Clinton calls for Democratic debate in Flint, Mich.
Politico ^ | January 30, 2016 | Gabriel Debenedetti

Hillary Clinton's campaign is calling for an additional Democratic debate to be held in Flint, Michigan, the site of an ongoing water contamination crisis that her campaign has focused on in recent weeks.

[Snip]

"The water crisis in Flint is unconscionable. It's been going on for years, as the people of Flint repeatedly asked for help and were ignored by state government. As Hillary has said, this would not have happened in a wealthy community."

... probably forgot that the water crisis happened under the supervision of elected Rat mayors, Rat city councils, union (therefore Rat) city code inspectors, and Rat governors ... inappropriate to call the old bag "stupid," cause she's a moron!

So NOW she wants more debates, huh? Methinks the noose is tightening a bit and that light at the end of the tunnel is a train.

She will probably blame the water for all the Grand Canyons in her face.

No fair zooming in.

Get ready for more of this.

Flint is now officially the Democrat Poster Child for how EEEEEEEVIL Republican Austerity is killing poor black children.

This after eight decades of Democrat control. Amazing how they just keep getting away with this again and again and again.

and were ignored by state government.

Once again, the focus on the state government in this crisis, as if it was primarily responsible. The formula is simple:

In Katrina, you had a Dem mayor and a Dem governor and a Republican president, so it was a national issue.

In Flint, you have a Dem mayor and a Republican governor and a Dem president and EPA, so its a state issue.

By the time the media is done spinning most voters will think that Rick Snyder drove to Flint and personally spread lead frosting on the Pop Tarts of all the children. You know that.

Flint *was* a wealthy community, thanks to the auto industry, but they spent every cent on oversized cars, too many freeways, and graft. By wealthy, the speaker must have meant "black", but didn't want to come right out and say that, in order to make this look like a haves/havenots phony baloney scenario, instead of a race card phony baloney scenario -- because she doesn't want this to seem like the pandering and racist panhandling that it is. The Demagogic Party ran Flint (indeed, much of the state) for the better part of a century, and all the officials running the emergency mgmt have been Democrats.

Finley: Trace Flint blame from water plant

A $150 per day anti corrosive could have prevented this.

Be careful what you wish for Hilda..

I can see a fakakta carnival outside of the Left and Far-Far-Left protesting against one another, anyone, and anything outside the event.

Whether the dominant media shows it is a different subject.

Maybe even "the rent is too da*n high!" guy will show up....

Exactly!

The DEMOCRAT PARTY has been using these verbal gymnastics for several years now! In truth they should call themselves the American Socialist/Communist Party.

Even our Liberal Salt Lake Tribune is making this an issue here in Utah.

BTW, I grew up in Oakland County. My family is still in Michigan.

The issue is really pretty simple.

Most cities in the USA still have lead feeder lines to the individual houses. Over the years lead oxide builds up in those lead pipes and prevents the lead from leaching into the water. In this case, when the city switched sources of water they failed to treat the water with an anti corrosive agent and the water ate away the lead oxide allowing the lead to leach into the water.

I’m just glad I have my own well with nothing but steel, copper and PVC in my plumbing.

Yep.

I love Utah, but sadly we have a large number of misinformed and agenda driven enviro-weenies (especially Salt Lake County) who love to spout off on sh*t they have no clue about.
