When punishing dissenters is in vogue
Washington Times ^ | Monday, February 1, 2016 | Tammy Bruce

Posted on 02/01/2016 2:21:52 PM PST by TBP

The appeal of Mr. Trump, in its face, is clear. He rips away the scourge of political correctness, a virus that is destroying the country from within. We’re all rightly concerned about terrorism, but that’s a cancer that will only finish off this nation.

The tipping point for me was last week’s absurd drama surrounding new attacks by the Trump gang on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. She’s “unfair” we’re told, and shouldn’t moderate the debate. This stemmed from the first debate when Ms. Kelly asked Mr. Trump to explain his attitude toward women many consider misogynistic.

Yes, you can be thin-skinned, hate Fox News, have supporters who work to punish dissenters, and be president.

In fact, we’ve had that in the White House for seven years now. I thought conservatives wanted to change things.

My initial hesitancy regarding Mr. Trump was his liberalism. Sure, he says he’s a conservative, but so does Mitch McConnell and John Boehner and Jeb Bush and and Paul Ryan.

But many will learn in the aftermath of a Trump election what Pyrrhic victory means.

He’ll secure the border, implement single-payer (hey, he’s a deal maker), and grow the government into a monster bigger than you can imagine. It’ll be “YUGE!” His foreign policy? He’s a deal maker.

And like the incumbent, as Tammy Bruce points out, he has ZERO tolerance for dissent. Look at the immature way he attacks his opponents. It raises serious questions about whether he has the temperament to be president.

So, how many Democrat Party debates did FOX moderate?

Worth between $3 and $10 billion dollars, and you have serious doubts about his ability to be successful.

No what they have zero tolerance for is the habitual lying some members of the “Conservative” media had decided to engage in. Then when caught out lying, like good little Leftists they want to whine about being held accountable for their actions.

Some in the “Conservative media” have decided to use the same sort of sleazy lying by omission, misrepresentation and innuendo that the Leftist media has used against Conservatives for decades. When did “Conservatives” decide adopting the Leftist PR tactics was going to work for them?

She has zero points. People whining about being held accountable for their actions is NOT a Conservative value.

I don’t give a darn whether Mr. Trump is unpleasant, tactless, misogynist, etc. I want the wall built, I want the hemorrhaging of American businesses stopped, I want terrorism dealt with, I want someone who will stand up to our enemies and to the enemies in our own media, I want our military restored, our Veterans treated well, and so forth. If Mr. Trump can get these things done, I don’t care how how unlikable he is, or who he offends. It just does not matter!

Mr. Trump to explain his attitude toward women many consider misogynistic.

Yeah Economy in the toilet, Radical Islam on the march, US society in chaos etc etc etc and THIS is what the screaming fools in the Media thinks is a serious question to be asked at a Presidential debate. Real Conservatives understand that when you behave like morons, you can expect to be held accountable.

I lean that way heavily myself.

Electing people is always a crap shoot.

People who think he’s just like Obama, don’t remember what Obama was promising to do.

None of it looked like Trump’s platform in the slightest way.

Sad really.

What Trump actually said.

When did the "Conservative media" decide lying was an acceptable campaign tactic?

Trump: We are going to work with our hospitals. We are going to work with our doctors. We've got to do something. You can't have a small percentage of our economy, because they're down and out, have absolutely no protection so they end up dying from, you know, what you could have a simple procedure or even a pill. You can'tt do that. We'll work something out. That doesn't mean single payer. And I mean, maybe hes got no heart. And if this means I lose an election, that's fine, because, frankly, we have to take care of the people in our country. We can't let them die on the sidewalks of New York or the sidewalks of Iowa or anywhere else"

Hey Tammy do you think its going to be pleasant building the wall with all the progressives, illegals and RINO’s screaming bloody murder?

Do you think its going to be pleasant rounding up and deep sixing all the nasty muslims from Syria and God knows where that Obama has brought upon us?

Give me a break. We need as one Freeper so euphemistically put it a “head ripper” in the Whitehouse. That would be DJ Trump.

” This stemmed from the first debate when Ms. Kelly asked Mr. Trump to explain his attitude toward women many consider misogynistic. “

No, Tammy, it stems from before the first debate when Kelly ran with an uncorroborated story that Trump’s first wife had accused him of rape. It was a lie. When Kelly followed up with her attack on Trump during the first debate, Trump rightly tried to have her booted from moderating debates.

She has zero points. People whining about being held accountable for their actions is NOT a Conservative value.

So when Trump whined when he was held accountable for statements that he actually made...what was that? Kelly threw his own words right back at him, and he went nuts.

I mean, that's the entire point. Every time he says something controversial, and his own words are used against him, the whining starts about how unfair that is. As if he's supposed to be graded on a curve or something because that's just New York bombast.

If the guy doesn't want to have his words picked apart, then maybe it is up to him to choose them more carefully. So perhaps conservatives won't start wondering about what the heck he means on health care.

Bravo

I would add:
I don’t care if he has to do those things by executive order. The only way to get the demodogs to see how tyrannical their last two presidents have been is to have one that does the same thing only with better policies.

Make America Great again: put more democrats in jail. Retire more university professors.

Well said. I’m surprised at Tammy who poses on her website holding a revolver. Now she’s just another feminist pantywaist (waste, really) complaining that Trump is mean to girls. Well, sometimes women deserve it. I can’t wait until he takes on that fat old broad currently running.

Great article. Almost as if she crawled into my brain. Describes how and why I decided not support Trump and why I am wary of a Trump administration.

Dems rarely deal. When Dems deal they extract a pound of flesh. What will Trump put on the table and how will he deal with any dissent he faces from anyone on both sides of the aisle, particularly with dissent from the the grassroots level.

When has Trump held himself accountable for anything?

And yes, if he doesn’t like being challenged on what he says or how he says it, he should keep his mouth shut unless he is discussing policy.
