On his radio program today, Rush Limbaugh dropped a bombshell report that the rumors of Ben Carson dropping out on Monday were actively encouraged by the Rubio campaign.

CNN reported that Dr. Carson was on his way back to Florida after the Iowa Caucuses. Staffers working for the Cruz campaign reportedly heard the story and began telling caucus-goers Monday night that Dr. Carson planned on dropping out of the race, allegedly attempting to swing voters for Cruz.
According to Limbaugh, however, there are reports that the Rubio campaign is just as much to blame for spreading these rumors, trying to convince Carson supporters vote for Rubio.
So why is the Cruz camp being attacked from all sides while Rubio is ignored?
Because "Cruz is the frontrunner!" Limbaugh says. "They don't think they can go after him on issues."

It started at CNN, Rubio’s guy advanced it. Others picked up on it.
The ONLY reason Carson is even in the news is because of this non-story.
He should be thankful and use it to his advantage.
Rush thinks Rubio is a conservative and Rush must be taking drugs lately.
God, he is so full of it. Now he is protecting Cruz again.
What a bunch of suckers. I believe the damage was done after the CNN tweet said they had checked with the Carson Campaign and they were moving right on in the campaign. Why did Cruz continue to defraud the voters in Iowa with that absolute knowledge?

It sounds like Rush is acknowledging that this misinformation about CArson actually had an impact.
THAT is the point.
I keep hearing that it was not a problem, that Rubio did it first, that EVERYONE did it too, that it was a sweet move by the Cruz people because it worked, that Cruz had no idea that it happened, that it was a simple mistake, that it was Carson’s fault, that it was CNNs fault...
Imagine Donald Trump did this?
This place would be on fire with calls for trump to get out of the race.
Hell, this place? The entire MSM would be crying from the highest peak.
I don’t care who did this. Does anyone seriously think Carson has any chance to be the nominee? If he hasn’t dropped out he should and let the primary voters focus on those who do have a chance.

Based on CNN reporting that Carson was going home and would not be going to New Hampshire and South Carolina, it sounded as if he was withdrawing — until his campaign corrected the record on that score.
You can’t blame people for thinking that.
Of if in fact any significant shift occurred.
I would imagine the Donald would respond with "I have a plan, I would get the best people on it"...Or maybe Trump would make another donation to Harry Reid or Al Sharpton to get them to protest or something...
Rush is in a tough spot. He’s been blathering on for months about how pristine Cruz is. Most of the “callers” spew the same Cruz nonsense.
Now Cruz is busted and he calls for Cruz to do the right thing and give Carson a couple of delegates. I guess tomorrow he’ll ask for Rubio to hand over a couple as well.
