On Tuesday, Donald J. Trump's campaign started running a negative ad in South Carolina against Senator Ted Cruz that was searing, describing the winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses as a fake and a "Washington insider."
The spot also scolded Mr. Cruz for his campaign's role in spreading claims that Ben Carson had suspended his campaign while the caucuses were taking place; Mr. Carson, in fact, had not ended his candidacy, and Mr. Cruz later apologized to him.
But on Wednesday the spot was abruptly pulled down by the campaign.

Well as Cruz and Trump shoot at one another, it leaves room for Rubio. They might well try not to commit fratricide.
Rubio is going no place . He is an AWOL Senator that never passed a single bill and he was for AMNESTY with Chuck SCHUMER!! He is Dracula to conservatives!!
I think Trump is going to try to stay away from the negative adds, at least for a few days. Perhaps internal polling is showing a comfortable lead?
More likely Trump trying to take the high road - & avoid counter fire.

I seriously doubt it. Besides he is not qualified per the Constitutional requirement of natural born citizen.
I like Trump’s standards...he doesn’t have to get in the ‘mud slinging’ with the rest of the government backed candidates, he’s his own man and should stay that way...
His campaign is hitting on all the important things that Americans want back in their country, and with him self funding his own campaign he can bring those things to the American people and they support him on them...
Let the rest of the government backed candidates roll around in the mud with the cheating, lying and under handed deals being made...

Yes, Teddy did apologize, publicly, to score points; but behind the scenes, out of sight of his worshipers, he blew right past Ben so as to get his “due” applause.
I think that God he lays claim to saw the WHOLE schitck and His scorecard is ultimately the one that counts.

Wishful thinking. Bush/Rubio and the other campaigns already running the same type of ad and are tearing Cruz apart. No reason to waste air time. Trump replaced it with a positive Pro-Trump message, letting the other candidates handle the TV.
Right! Trump pulls out negative adds so he can use them againstCruz or Rubio and then say hey they started it!! Fake outrage.
He’ll be back, count on it, but so will Ted.
Playing the offended Carson Card with the tuff guy card was a mistake.
