Good news for cruz

His determination of eligibility is going to court

Put the matter to rest right now before the democrats grab it to use during the general election

Not tha Ted is going to ever win the nomination anyway

Yup. Why doesn’t Cruz just release his CRBA? Why did he instead release his MOTHER’S birth certificate? That makes no sense.... unless he doesn’t have one, and given his position and knowing the controversy (since his Senate election) why not just put the question to bed and release the document instead of obfuscating the issue?

WGN-TV website says "He appealed the decision and was granted a hearing before the Circuit Court of Cook County Friday morning." That narrows down the time window.

The point is not that Cruz’s citizenship has never been brought up, but that Trump is almost certainly raising it to befuddle conservative voters who otherwise would have enthusiastically supported Cruz. And in that respect, I wholeheartedly agree with Trader Rob.

Peace,

SR

And quite a few arab princes. Including some Jordanians and Saudi’s. Pretty sure that is what the founding fathers were trying to guard against.

Releasing his mother’s birth certificate makes perfect sense. The natural born citizenship issue is what is being contested, not the parentage of Cruz. He can offer, if necessary, any number of other exhibits to show he was born to Eleanor Cruz. But the NBC question hangs, in large part, on whether she was locked in as a U.S. Citizen when he was born. Her birth certificate shows this to be true, and that would be why he released it.

Peace,

SR

From the article: “Everyone agrees that the first category of people [born in the US regardless of who his parents are] are natural-born citizens. “

No, *everyone* doesn’t agree on that point. There is a line of reasoning based on deVattel’s ‘Law of Nations’ that the the parents have to be citizens. SCOTUS has never said that parents’ citizenship was irrelevant, only that born in the US of citizen parents is universally agreed upon as ‘natural born citizens.’

i guess. at some point i think u have to declare your allegiance. im not an expert on such matters. Either Kasich, Trump, or Cruz is fine with me. The real battle is for the other repubs supporters ( i.e. Bush, Christie, Carson, etc). Wheres the analysison of that and by which state primary does the delegate result become fait acompli?

She relinquished her citizenship at the time she married the king. She can’t pass forward a citizenship she no longer possesses.

Peace,

His birth certificate doesn't address his mother's citizenship. It addresses her place of birth which may be why he chose that document.

so, if a couple goes to France on a vacation and the wife bears a child there, the child’s US citizenship.status.be ones clouded? I don’t think so.

I’m not over-simplifying. I’m simplifying. The reason is to get to the core issue. The core issue is that you are either a citizen by virtue of the conditions of your birth, you are a citizen due to a naturalization process, or you are not a citizen.

The question is, which of these three is Cruz?

those born in the US of citizen parents...

and that is it. No operation of law is needed to define their citizenship.

I don’t understand how O’ahu isn’t part of the State of Hawai’i. Would you explain it to me? You said even some natives didn’t understand so I don’t feel bad in asking.

Because Coulter is in love with the Donald, just like she loved Romney, just like she loved Christie, just like she thought it was a good idea to date Bill Maher.

Coulter is not very good at picking men.
