There was that little issue of Saddam violating the terms of the ceasefire, remember those? Allowing inspection unhampered, not shooting at out planes in the no fly zone and killing Kurds by the thousands, those little things?

There were a number of reasons to remove Saddam. WMD was one.

Brilliant move to knock out Jeb (especially when Jeb or W don’t talk about the current mess). Wait’ll Trump knocks out Hillary and ISIS (Hillaryous Rotten Criminal is the mother of the current iteration of Islam called ISIS. POSOTUS is the father).

Chessmaster of politics.

HOORAY Trump

Mosul, Iraq - current mess (does Hillary Rotten want to put the music maker who caused this in prison?)

You support the United Nations?
I'm anti-United Nations, in fact, I want the US out of the UN.

...
United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council_Resolution_1441

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441 is a United Nations Security Council resolution adopted unanimously by the United Nations Security Council on 8 November 2002, offering Iraq under Saddam Hussein "a final opportunity to comply with its disarmament obligations" that had been set out in several previous resolutions (Resolution 660, Resolution 661, Resolution 678, Resolution 686, Resolution 687, Resolution 688, Resolution 707, Resolution 715, Resolution 986, and Resolution 1284).

didn’t April Gillaspie tell Hussain Kuaite was not an American issue, which started the entire fiasco?

also seem to recall Bush the Elder allowing the Republican Guard to go home from Kuaite unmolested. Yeah, there was the highway of death ect., where they killed regular army looters with their spoils.

I also recall after calls for internal uprising in Iraq the Kurds stood up and tried to fight without support for several weeks/couple months with disastrous results. Once they were out of the way the no fly started.

All of that -- especially the inspections, the ceasefire, etc. -- overlooks the point that the U.S. never should have been involved in a military campaign against Iraq even in 1990.

The U.S. involvement in Iraq will go down in history as a complete disaster. Between the two Bush presidents they have destroyed the credibility of the Republican Party and many of its supporters. No wonder Jeb Bush is about as popular as a child molester right now.

“Bush said of Trump’s criticism of his brother’s presidential policies: “I am sick and tired of him going after my family. My dad is the greatest man alive in my mind.”

He didn’t mention the old man, but he could have, because he was almost as bad as his brother. And as for homosexual “marriage” loving and pro-abortion mama, she badmouthed Trump when Jebbie was hiding behind her dress.

I guess you forgot about the war that preceded it and the blood and treasure spent on securing that agreement. In addition I guess you forgot there was a wide coalition built and they bled for the cause too.

And now that Saddam's out of the way, Iran has a free hand to arm itself with nuke tipped missiles.

We have to go to war with Iran now. It won't be the cake walk that Iraq was. It's a huge country, and contrary to popular myth, the Iranians are fairly well educated. But they are now also radicalized - like the Germans circa 1937. But unlike the Germans, the Russians have their back.

What are you going to do now, DB? What's your brilliant solution to ISIS, Iran, and of course the unabated Saudi funding of the fifth column in our country?

That "wide coalition" wouldn't have existed if the United States didn't push for it.

I'm not interested in wide coalitions. In fact, I really don't give a sh!t about them and consider them dangerous. I'm only interested in what is in the best interests of the United States.

The Republican guard was decimated on the road out of Kuwait. And yes Bush senior encouraged the Kurds to stand up and fight and then we abandoned them.

I was reminded of the drivel that comes out of the egghead foreign policy “specialists” last nite when I again watched Blackhawk Down and saw 19 of our best soldiers, Delta Force, Rangers and pilots, cut down by the mob of scum I Somalia. I wondered what the HELL we were doing there? And then I remembered that some bozo local warlord, Emperor Aidid or whatever, had gotten on the wrong side of the Secretary General of the United Nations. And I wondered why OUR troops were fighting this bozo’s fight and why HE and his sons weren’t in the front line instead.

I think we “helped” both Iraq and Iran during their war when either side was gaining an advantage. The 90s was a continuation of brilliant policy influencing the region as Russia was out of the picture.

25 years later you can see the stability we brought aboutt.

Blame Obama for handing Iraq to Iran and ISIS.

As far as Bush goes, I was against nation building. That was the major flaw in the cause.

Saddam should have been taken out and then we should have left. Tell the next government this is what will happen to you if you violate the terms you agreed to.

(Sonny getting back at saddam for bush sr)

That’s exactly why the “war” happened. GWB was a fool for taking his eye off of Afghanistan. He should have focused on the Bin Laden hunt there and then deal with Saudi Arabia for whatever part they played.
