“Creepers told me he had a secret army. Where’s the secret army!”
That information is classified. The secret army is so secret, it will never be seen.
It is possible that Cruz and the Establishment could make a deal to sink Trump, but so far the Establishment prefers Trump over Cruz because Trump is "malleable" and willing to betray the Conservative base.

shyster
Shyster is derived from the German term scheisser, meaning literally "one who defecates," from the verb scheissen, "to defecate," with the English suffix -ster, "one who does," substituted for the German suffix -er, meaning the same thing.
Generally used to describe someone who is untrustworthy, money grabbing and full of crap, particularly in the field of legal work for some reason.
If Cruz were to drop out, Rubio would take it all the way. Trump cannot win a 2-way primary. He is too Leftist, and the Establishment prefers Rubio over Trump.
Wow. You guys have a new meme. No facts... just meme!
Poor Teddy Bares... How's the Teddy Bare mud rally coming?
Not if your meter doesn't "ping to the red zone" over a man who's been a decades long Democrat, a contributor to Democrats, an intimate with felons, corrupt union officials, a bully, and a repeat offender bankrupt telling you that he is truly a conservative, converted against abortion, opposed to his lifelong practice of crony capitalism, a friend of his adversaries, a man who has finally met someone he did not sue, a fraudster who will return the money he scammed from "college" students, in short, a very wicked man who has been redeemed by an epiphany.
I submit your meter is broken.
I do not say this to relitigate this primary election, the die appears to have been cast, Cruz is out Trump is in and we will be forced to live with this very grave risk. But broken meters have left the country not only vulnerable to Donald Trump but broken meters have taught every genuine conservative politician that he cannot trust the base, the base will not stand by a conservative who fights the establishment even as he stands on his feet all night long in the Senate fighting for the base. It teaches every conservative Republican to become a grifter like Donald Trump. It is demoralizing to conservatism and we have yet to reap the whirlwind from our puerile fascination with this mountebank.
I have often said that I would vote for Satan before voting for Hillary (or any Democrat for that matter) so, as promised, I will hold my nose with one hand, pull the lever for Trump with the other hand, and fall on my knees in supplication to Almighty God to spare the Republic over this folly.
Trump should think about Tom Cotton for his VP
Windflier: I’m old enough to know when I’m being bamboozled by a slickster
grania: So am I. There’s something about Cruz that gives it away. And once you see it, everything about him adds to that impression.
It’s the phiz. That noisome, supercilious smirk is the default setting for his face. That is the obvious off putting thing.
Another and more subtle thing is his eyes. Even when talking or emoting, there is the disconnect with his eyes. They are always scanning and assessing his audience reaction. Always calculating, always disengaged except for that assessment. That is the habit of a con, a hard sell artist, a litigator. It is the look of a cynical manipulator. Clinton was much better at concealing that when he was reading his marks.
No wonder his lieutenants have been making the rounds with the Baghdad Bob routine.
I was for a Trump/ Cruz ticket since last summer. I think there may be irreparable damage done to each of them, preventing this from becoming a possibility.

Man, have you ever pegged Cruz to a T. That is an excellent description of what turns people off about the guy.
One other thing, is his lack of a smile. Ever notice that Ted rarely smiles, and when he does, it looks forced? Even painful?
In his defense, I'll say that, before he put his name into the hat, he had an altogether different demeanor and appearance on TV. He was relaxed, confident, and even charming. That all changed the moment he chose to reach for the big chair. He hasn't been the same man since.
I don’t think we need the Supremes. It’s pretty much spelled out here, isn’t it?:
https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-parents
“In a general, a Child Born Outside the U.S. is a Citizen at Birth when the Childâs Parents Are Married to each other at the Time of Birth
IF...”One parent is a U.S. citizen at the time of birth and the birthdate is on or after November 14, 1986
AND... “The U.S. citizen parent had been physically present in the U.S. or its territories for a period of at least five years at some time in his or her life prior to the birth”
(This INS pages seems to say that the birthdate of the child can be before 1986 only if the mother is “not married”.)
Another scenario:
A Child Born Outside the U.S. is a Citizen after Birth
IF⦔The child was under 18 from December 24, 1952 to February 26, 2001”
AND...”The child was residing as a Green Card holder in the U.S. and both parents naturalized before the childâs 18th birthday”
I’m in a bull-dazzle racket. I have to be able to read these guys. At times I have to be one. That is appropriate when dealing with adversaries and rivals. Not your people though. I don’t see him ever turn it off.
I didn’t pay a lot of attention to him prior to this run. My dislike was instant, and my efforts to warm to him failed. Perhaps some of his ardent supporters are more imprinted with his earlier deportment that you mention, as there are some FReeper I hold in high esteem who are smitten with the man.
If he comes near where I live I will try to see him. Ive found several politicians to come across radically different in the flesh than on electronic media.
I never understood even last summer, why Cruz was making it a goal to blow past all voters of America, except rank Evangelicals. By rank, I mean not even moderate Evangelicals seemed to be on his check list. Cruz lost Evangelicals of all stripes to TRUMP, certainly the moderates who don’t dig Beck.
Who does that, in an obviously secular America and honestly expect to win on the support of a shrinking minority?
Even the most devout Christians have discussed this known condition on FR for years, and see it everywhere.
Cruz’ poor father is reportedly a Dominionist, whatever that is, and sounds sadly like the new, old version of “name it and claim it”, or, “anoint it and appoint it, it’s yours”.
Beck has been permitted to follow Cruz around lending an appearance or two on Ted’s behalf, certain to bring political suicide to any hope of growing his base.
Include Beck’s vamp, the dark side Dana, who has scowled down with black eyes and plenty of self righteous arrogance against TRUMP and thereby upon his supporters, who weren’t in the Cruz “loop”— (a more charitable word choice for avoiding the word “cult like”.)
No, I never did get it. Who didn’t know it was all most assuredly going to lead to this very outcome?
You're gonna need the Supremes to sort it out. Not only will the public demand it, but a mere statute isn't going to cut it, when attempting to settle the very definition of what the intent of the Framers was.
The Constitution is superior to all statute law, and cannot be defined or modified by any of it. All laws are subservient to the Founding Charter.
There's a strong chance that even the Supremes won't be able to rule on this. It may take a new amendment to the Constitution with subsequent ratification by the states to get it done.
President Trump will be finished with both of his terms by the time that's achieved.
Say whaaaa?
What does Cruz bring to a TRUMP ticket that TRUMP hasn’t already got, or even wants, least of all, even needs?
Those are the factors that make a ticket. The two of them are not even close in votes. Who is Ted Cruz, outside of a minority of Evangelicals?
TRUMP is leading all over the country, including the South and has won Evangelicals, over Cruz. The rest of any group across the board have no interest whatsoever in Ted Cruz.
Keep dreaming.
Just one of them and throw their support to the other
LOL!
