Why we can now declare the end of ‘Christian America’
Washington Post ^ | February 25, 2016 | Norman Wirzba

Political elections are as much about those doing the electing as it is about those eventually elected. If each vote represents what a voter believes and hopes for, then the person elected is really a magnification of the desires voters happen to have.

This is why national elections are so fascinating. Every four years, Americans collectively paint and present to the world a picture that communicates their aspirations and fears. It is a picture that enables us to see the character of a nation.

Not only that, I am curious how this Leftist would explain how their rabid support of infanticide (AKA Abortion) is a “Christian” value.

We declared the end of Christian government a long time ago. But one thing Christianity is good at is resurrection. And it looks like something is stirring in the grave.

Liberals have been ‘nudging’ this nation leftward for 60 years. Inch-by-inch, they’re gradually moving the ball down the field.

We’ve tried the GOP. We supported the Tea Party. For years we, as conservatives, have done everything that we can to slow the progression. I say ‘slow’ because we haven’t had a prayer of actually stopping it, let alone ending the PC culture that feeds the beast.

After all that work, where do we stand?

We’ve got 3rd trimester abortions, our girls hypersexualized, our boys drugged and punished for being ‘male’. Our college are overrun with brainwashing that’s so effective that even leftist professors fear it. Feminism has infiltrated every corner of our lives. Our children are programmed through a federal school system.

Our economy is in shambles. In some areas, more than 70% of babies are born out of wedlock.

What we’ve been doing isn’t working.

So we’re going nuclear on the entire system. We’re sending in a Patton to shred the tools of the left. The Department of Education. Environmentalism. The IRS. We want it dismantled and we believe that we’ve found the man who’s capable of doing just that - and yet maintain the structure of society so that we have something to work with.

Trump supporters are good people who’ve come to the realization that ‘playing nice and moderate’ doesn’t work.

This is our nation’s last chance before bullets start to fly.

I pray for our nation.

Trump is going to eliminate the IRS/EPA and DOE?

I haven’t heard any of these plans. I have just heard from him that PLanned Parenthood does good things

many if not most election for higher office are rigged by the corrupt and wealthy, thus, those elected to public office are in no way reflective of who the voting public are nor what they want

Can’t argue with your premise.

We all see it. I don’t like the idea these are the final days of our republic and I am willing to give an outsider a go.

Make America Great Again Donald.

And they don’t eve really do those “good” things, they just make referrals. The business of PP is baby murder, pure and simple.

Seems to me the good doctor of philosophy at Duke isn’t really accounting for the fact that Christianity is a personal religion...and for all of his demand that we care for the poor, love the unloved, feed the hungry, etc., he overlooks the FACT that the Christian community has been doing that for hundreds of years.

Even a CURSORY reading of history will show that POVERTY decreased as the church was allowed to do her mission, and POVERTY INCREASED as the *STATE* began to push religion aside (the 30s, and increasingly more so in the 60s) and to take over the “responsibility” of eliminating social ills like poverty.

I went to this man’s web site and looked at his curriculum Vitae. He is highly educated and is probably a good conversationalist...but it amazes me so much that the SIMPLEST truths can escape the most intelligent.

Paul was correct when he wrote that the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. I know he was speaking of salvation, but the analogy fits here, too.

We may indeed be ready to take the mantle of “Christian” away from America, but that is because the GOVERNMENT and SOCIETY has trod upon the notion of freedoms and liberty that are inherent in the Christian worldview—not because Christianity has stopped the ethic of loving one’s neighbor.

sff

P.S. Christians have, I think, often abdicated their call to be engaged. So we aren’t off the hook. Our Saviour has called us to be a people of prayer and love, and I have failed miserably. My overall feeling is that I am not alone in that respect. May we (I) repent and pray for mercy.

He’s flat out said that he’d end the DOE and defang the IRS and the EPA.

Killing the DOE and returning education to local control was a lot of what won me over to his side.

Bump and Bump. One more bump.

I distinctly remember circa 2004 and saying to myself after hearing the GOP Senate, Congress and Presidency do something stupid, "I do not have a party". For over ten years, I watched, as you did, the me-too GOPe screw this country by letting the Left set the agenda and going along with big government.

Yup.

I was a baby Republican in the 90’s. (The internet helped me learn more than I knew there was to know.)

I was stunned.

My thought was, “The Dems are trying to take us over a cliff. The GOP is trying to lower us down the same cliff on a rope. Either way, we’re headed to the bottom.”

the end of 'Christian America'

Barack Hussein Obama promised to "fundamentally transform America". Washington Post is claiming that Obama succeeded. I think they are lying, as usual, but if it's true, it's the worst news in many generations.
