Leonardo DiCaprio Uses Oscar Speech to Urge Action on Climate Change
ClimateWire via Scientific American ^ | February 29, 2016 | Lisa Friedman

Leonardo DiCaprio used his Oscar acceptance speech last night to declare that climate change "is real" and to blast what he called the "politics of greed."

DiCaprio won the Academy Award for best actor for his role in "The Revenant" as a 19th-century frontiersman who is left for dead after being mauled by a bear.

He said making "The Revenant" was "about man's relationship with the natural world" and noted that the world in 2015 marked its hottest year on record. The production crew, he said, had to move to the "southern tip of this planet" in order to find snow.

Leonardo DiCrapio is right! Every winter it gets cold, and then in the summer it gets hot.

DiCrapio made a movie about a frontier American but did not make it in America. Reason #15,097,556 not to watch his shiite.

It takes a lot of sand to make a joke like that.

Scientific American is a real propaganda rag and its a shame. They shill for Climate Change. They think its newsworthy that Leo DiCaprio shills for climate change. But no where does it mention that its all just talk by him. That he owns a huge yacht. That he travels everywhere on private jets. That he uses more electricity than a 100 middle class homes. I don’t care what DiCaprio says about anything.

Sorry, Leo.

I just did my 62nd annual boycott of the Oscars show.

Do you wonder why?

No, but he is willing to play the part for the right price.

And the shakers and takers can't figure out why the ratings are diving, especially after what I read was a non-stop-advertisement for #BlackLivesMatter last night.

I quit watching years ago. Became too much of a Lefty activists' "It's-my-turn-to-go-public-with-my-favorite-liberal-causes" crap.

I still indulge in the movies because I like the entertainment but I am no fan of the Hollywood weird crowd.

2015 was not the hottest year on record. My utility bills say different.

The most existential crisis civilization has ever known is global warming??? Really???

So then,Muslim terror, ISIS, etc are not an existential crisis facing civilization?? So we need to depend on ISIS and their love of humanity to stop them from killing all of us???

What is the carbon footprint of ISIS??

Heck what was the carbon footprint of this movie of Leo getting mauled by a bear??? How much carbon did they spew trying to find the right icy location??? Why couldn’t they decrease their carbon footprint and do special effects and computer graphics to make this movie???

One of the dirty secrets of liberal Hollywood is how environmentally insensitive the movie business is, per the liberals own criteria. If Leo feels so strongly how can he in good conscience be a part of such a business???

If you look at the front of the ship in the posted image, there's a helicopter on the front of the ship.
I hate Hollyweird.

The Oscars - sanctimony and ridiculous self-congratulation, combined with black race-whining, asinine political advocacy, and to top it off, an appearance from Joe Biden

That’s GOT to be the formula for WORST TV show ever.

I stopped watching the Oscars after 1977, the last year Bob Hope hosted. Even back then actors were making political statements at the podium.

Leonardo DiCaprio Uses Oscar Speech to Urge Action on Climate Change

I saw that this morning. He said "The greatest threat we are facing is "Global Warming.""

To which I immediately shouted at the Television:

"No Leo! The biggest threat we are facing is the Liberal Monopoly on all means of communication with the American Public so that ignorant little weenies like yourself can push a wrong headed agenda and mislead other people. "

Liberal control of the media and entertainment industries *IS* the gravest threat this nation faces.
