However, if someone despises Trump and his supporters to the point where they claim to be voting for Rubio or Hillary, then I’m going to assume that there’s no point of building any kind of proverbial bridges, at least as long as that rancor is happening.I kind of suspect some of the people that have said that may be listening to their own frustrations, too.
I've been here many years, and have let myself get caught up in a race to the bottom a few times.
Nothing good ever comes of it.

This election is reminding me of 1980, with Trump as the 21st century Reagan. The GOP Establishment in 1980 didn’t like Reagan and thought he’d lead them to certain defeat, but fell in line when the people supported him. The parallels make me hopeful.

I suspect there are more who are as disgusted with the Democrat Party as I am with the Republican Party.
I don't consider myself a Republican in the Party of McConnell and Ryan.
And I'll never vote for Rubio.
