Ron Johnson won't rule out break with Trump, says 2016 campaign 'depressing'

Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson has declined to rule out a future break with his party's presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump -- a shift from Johnson's past statements that he would back whoever the GOP nominates.

Following Trump's reluctance to disavow a former Ku Klux Klan leader in a Sunday TV interview, Johnson told radio host Charlie Sykes that he's happy to disavow any form of white supremacy.

Johnson, R-Oshkosh, said he's "praying" for leaders who won't be divisive and -- without naming Trump -- said he's demoralized by the current state of the presidential race.

"It's depressing to see how this is devolving," Johnson said.

Senator Ron Johnson (WI) released the following statement regarding his (FAKE NAY)vote on S. 744, the Immigration Reform Bill:

"America is a compassionate society, and no one wants to separate families by deporting moms and dads or husbands and wives...

That’s interesting.

The People attending the Trump Rallies always seem very happy and full of energy, not depressed.

Maybe Ron should attend one just for kicks. He sounds like a real Debbie Downer. It might just cheer him up.

BTW - Is he housing Illegal Invaders in his own Home? If not, he isn’t too compassionate.

Ron apparently is a one-world degenerate...maybe he should be exiled.

This time of year the lack of sunshine apparently has Ron depressed.

Trump supporters spell “wussies” with a “p” instead of a “w”

“It’s depressing to see how this is devolving,” ....

With that I agree but remember, Trump is not the ONLY candidate on that stage, Rubio and Cruz have certainly lowered any thoughts I had toward their chances.

Living in Wisconsin, I think Johnson needs to remember he has competition as Feingold seeks revenge and hopes to replace him, best he not piss off the republicans who may still support him.

“It’s depressing to see how this is devolving,” Johnson said.”

But it’s not depressing to see your GOPe comrades plotting like they’re working in the Acme Factory for Big Political Strategic Plans to Destroy Donald Trump (AFFBPSPTDDT) with Wili E. Coyotee as Plant Mgr.?

How many of these state flunkies ran for office promising to keep illegals in their states?
I’m betting almost all of them.
Time to look for another job.

Stacy Hamilton: “Brad, what would say if I asked you to put these [flowers] in the trunk of the cruiser and get rid of them?”

Brad Hamilton: “I’d say, Who the hell is Ron Johnson?”

it’s unfortunate...in the back of my head, I had thought maybe Johnson could be a running mate, since he’s not a career pol., but only a recent one...i think he had been a very successful CEO.

oh, well. i guess now that he’s a senator he has lost his mind.

Really?

Can you provide a complete list of his wrong votes to back up your opinion?

I’m not happy about it either, but he has only himself and his fellow GOProgressives to blame.

So it’s Trump that will cause Johnson to lose, not the way his base feels about his votes and positions?

Not offhand. I do remember over the past 3 years how every time there was a key vote he was on the wrong side and it bugged me because I had dinner with him just after he was elected and thought he might have spine.

I’d start, if you’re interested, with the Corker bill, Lynch’s nomination, TPP. I think he was wrong on those. He did NOT support Cruz’s filibuster, did NOT attend Cruz’s “global warming” hearings, etc.
