The causes of charismatic leaders range from good and just to evil and rotten. For example, Hitler was charismatic, persuaded people to a cause, and was evil. While Reagan was charismatic, persuaded people to a cause, and was good.

If you want to justify comparing Trump to Hitler without being ridiculous, and losing any credibility you might scrape together to claim that Trump is being too harsh in his own rhetoric, you need to show not just charisma and persuasion, but horribly evil. But the fact is, he is not horribly evil, so its self defeating for people to go there.

Not Ollie North in that picture for several reasons. Mainly, it doesn’t look like him other than the USMC uniform and the Marine is way too tall, awards don’t come close to what Ollie had, the dress aiguillette being worn indicates an aide to the President (part of the White House Military Office. Ollie was not an aide in the WHMO, but was assigned to the the NSC.
