You look back on my posting history from the time I’ve been here and you will see that I have backed every candidate that Jim Robinson has backed in every election. Nothing I said was the freaking diction of a freaking damn liberal. What I said was freaking damn common sense. We need to stop the damn witch hunt and stop threatening long time Freepers.

OK, that is fair, and in good faith. Accepted.

As it is, I agree that tempers are fraying. However, there seems to be a good deal of provocation going on as well.

Perhaps cutting down on spam, and that, from decidedly far-left-wing sources, would be nice, too.

Every Republican elected official that won’t vote for the choice of their own voters better be watching their six.

I live in MA and I’ll bet 1/2 of the citizens, and maybe more, don’t even know who Charlie Baker is.

His opinion doesn’t matter.

I’m sorry I went a little batchit crazy on you in my last post. I’m just so tired of being treated like I don’t belong here. This is Free Republic. I am nothing but a Conservative. Even after we pick our candidate we should be continuing to inform ourselves of what is going on with views from all sides. We can’t do that if this is all Trump cheering all the time.

I guess Baker wants to elect Hillary. What a shame.

Any Massachusetts FReepers who can tell us what sort of Conservative policies Baker has implemented?

(sighs).

I started out favoring Scott Walker. He picked some C-of-C advisors including some dingbat crypto-lib female spokesman who lasted two days, and then he imploded.

I shifted to "tied between Cruz and Carson" with Trump as "emergency backup".

But I liked Trump acting as an icebreaker (or, in a melee computer gaming sense, "Got Tank?") against the press, so that Cruz could get his message out undistorted and unmolested.

Carson started making gaffes and proving low-energy; Cruz seemed...something I couldn't put my finger on...not quite *genuine* about it. So I started considering Trump.

Then I found out about Heidi being CFR and Goldman Sachs; realized Cruz had been an up-and-comer under the Bush administration and had pushed for a 500% increase in H1-Bs, as well as being a Princeton/Harvard grad...Yuck. And then finding his candidacy was relentlessly data-driven/focus-grouped to focus like a laser on movement conservatives: I liked his ads but felt I was being played, or delivered like a tranche in a derivativized security made from collateralized mortgages.

But Trump at least, spoke his mind, whatever it was *this* ten minutes.

Yes, I'm aware of Trump's dangers: "New York Values" and contributor to Dems, philanderer, all over the map.

But he *LOVES* America instead of hating it: and his mispronouncing all the Christian-related stuff, made me think it wasn't memorized cant, but he was trying to learn on the fly -- that is, he wanted our votes...but something about him makes me actually think he is willing to give something back in return for the vote. Unlike the GOP-e. The fact he has taken such flack from the left and had so many business partnerships such as Macy's terminated as a result of his run, gives me assurance that this is not a game or a trick: he has some skin in the game.

If Trump *legitimately* falters, or Cruz *legitimately* overtakes him, I will be GLAD to vote Cruz in the general. Or, reluctantly, (depending on his campaign and VP choice), Kasich (as it appears Carson and Rubio are dropping out)...

Are you answered?

He sounds like the type of person that inspired the “Masshole” moniker Nor’easteners are prone to using to describe certain people from that once great Colony.

Baker joined a growing contingent of conservatives who say they would rather vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton or a third-party candidate than support Trump in the general election.

100% Lie. No Conservative would vote for Hillary Clinton. Ever. Uniparty beltway types would. Butthurt gopes would, because that's who they really are.

What is it about “republican” governors from Massachusetts? I guess they don’t like Trump. Well, he can always vote for Clinton unless she is in jail in November.

I didn’t realize I’d questioned you :) This is the primary and you have changed candidates with information you have gained. I have been for Cruz from the start and, like Jim, I say screw the Governor because between Trump who keeps at least talking in a conservative direction and Hillary who we know without a doubt is running in the wrong direction, I will be a quiet little Trump supporter. I can’t stand the freaking people that helped vote in Obama by not holding their nose and voting for Romney. The lesser of two evils is still less evil. We don’t have the luxury of thinking we could make it through another 4 years of liberal executive actions and vetoes.

Exactly. None.

He’s like Romney. They look conservative but ... lesser of two evils.

You have guys like the above or guys like ‘Coupe’ Deval Patrick around here.

So you hold your nose and vote.

Howie Carr ‏@HowieCarrShow Mar 1 I'm happier about the GOP state committee results than about Super Tuesday. Baker had no business trying to put his hacks in. Purge fails.
