“Where in the Sam hill did those boys 8 years old learn about oral sex????”

Planned Parenthood. You know that organization that does “wonderful things” has been in the schools teaching sex ed to kindergarten kids for decades now we get this.

If she puts him back on the school bus after that it’s her fault. I can’t blame parents for not knowing before hand after all, not all parents have the benefit of coming here and learning about how bad the schools are.

HOW ON EARTH can ANY MOTHER who cares about her kids, put them on a school bus to a PUBLIC SCHOOL.

People like you make me sick to my guts BobL! What the Hell else would you expect my Mom to do besides the best that she could do under the circumstances?

Oh, that's right! You have NO IDEA what our circumstances were.

WDYGFY?

I’m talking about TODAY’s schools. I give a pass to earlier generations, the schools were either much better, or what is known about them by conservatives, wasn’t nearly enough.

Today, in at least 90% of the cases, it’s a LIFESTYLE choice.

I am sorry about what your husband went thru. He sounds like an excellent & caring teacher. I know EXACTLY what he went thru. The admin grips us by the throat & never lets go. The abuse I see fellow teachers get is astounding. I get spared simply because we are self contained & alternatively assessed. I also know how to play the game for self preservation.

Being in the south we can pray. Many teachers & assistants pray before they eat lunch. My kids share about their church because it is a big part of their life.

I am a big believer in the “broken windows” theory........tackle the seemingly trivial things: clothing, being polite, cleanliness, respect, etc & you have half the game won. But for whatever absurd reason that is seen in many quarters as being wrong to guide a child in that way. Duh, we are teachers. That is part of it. From the little I have read about KIPP charters they emphasize those things to an extreme degree. As far as I’m concerned those things when mastered give a student a huge leg up in the world. Especially for kids who are lacking in so many areas this could be a lifesaver come college or job time.

On Friday several colleagues were written up for saying, “Hush,” to a class. The stories become so absurd that if you are not in education or know so done who is you would be skeptical about the truth of said stories. When you tell them someone always says, “ Oh I’ve got a better one.”

I’m glad your husband is in a place where he is happy.

You will find, if you haven't figured it out already, that he two most vocal proponents of homeschooling are both crazier than outhouse rats.

Most of us public school teachers, if not all, support homeschooling. We also support parochial, private and charter schools. We realize there is no one size fits all.

The truth will continue to elude them because they are so wrapped up in hate. They exist to destroy not build up.

You are about the 4th person to warn me of nutters. Pretty obvious. Discussion seems pointless. Enjoy your evening!

There is a very interesting thread about a homeschool student that went on to become a state trooper. He went on to some peoples property and almost shot their dog. The home owners wife intervened and ended up arrested. The trooper went to court and committed perjury to justify his actions. Fortunately the husband had videoed the entire episode.

None of the usual suspects even tried to distance themselves from this episode. I wonder if learning to kill innocent animals and committing perjury qualify as ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

No indeed should you draw such a conclusion about animal abuse.

Verga’s point is when anything homeschool is shown in a negative light, it is ignored or brushed off as an anomaly.

However, if you spend your free time scouring the Internet for ANY reason to trounce public schools and their employees, then that is okay.

There is a reason I do not post on education threads. No homeschooling harrigan will answer up front, sincere and honest questions. Anything. Outside of their stock responses cannot exist; it is arguing with a Jehovah’s Witness and equally effective. On a positive note, the heat and pressure got too much when confronted for an actual dialogue that most turned tail and ran away whining for us to leave them alone. We teachers are such bullies, you see.

Life goes on regardless; they can continue in their narrow minded fantasy world of a hypothetical situation that has never and will never exist.

My best to you.

Okay, now I understand! I’m tired & slow today ; )
The condemnation for teachers IS mind boggling. I truly don’t understand it. The complete lack of being in the real world regarding people not choosing to homeschool is bizarre. So many people are not in a financial position to do that & horror of horrors........some live in a good, if not great school district.

I think almost all teachers are very supportive of homeschooling. I had a week long environmental workshop 2 summers ago. I got a ton of great material I could not use. A friend knew a young mom who homeschools & I gave her everything. She was over the moon.

So yeah we rock & I am so glad to know you both. Be well FRiends!

Please post where you got the 90% figure. I am very interested in that article/research. That had to have been a very long term study.

The two biggest proponents of home schooling refuse to admit for a second that there is any other alternative. They use Alinsky tactics to try and silence anyone that sees any benefit in public schooling. They are both hypocrites and liars.
