I wonder if right before the show someone said Steyn wasn’t a conservative, as he sounds bitter about it. He has spent the show so far trying to push Trump over the line with phrasing like “he’s not as bad as he seems”.
Steyn sounds mad that people point out that Trump supporters aren’t conservative, and that conservatives aren’t behind Trump. Yet at the same time he says the conservative tent is empty and nobody is in it. Well if there aren’t enough conservatives to care about, why does Steyn care that conservatives aren’t going to vote for Trump?
The only thing bad Steyn can really seem to find to say about Rubio and Kasich is that they said bullying things about Trump (who is himself the biggest bully). Is that all that is important? Whether someone is for or against Trump? What about the Gang of 8?
All over the place.
All they have to do is jump on a "Jellobird" and fly to NYC and instantly, they can vote in Fed. election....or just vote absentee.

If you think Trump doesn’t have problems you haven’t been taking an honest look at Trump. The democrats can destroy Trump in the general.
If the “citizenship” is an issue, why has every judge so far to see this issue thrown the case out? Why hasn’t Trump or Grayson brought about the lawsuit they keep threatening if it is such a slam dunk?

Steyn could even have admitted that a large percentage of Trump supporters are registered democrat and independent, or call themselves libertarians or some other label.
It is very troubling when someone cannot tell the difference between a conservative and these other labels. Steyn seems to not know the definition of conservative.
There is a definition, even though Trump supporters claim conservatism “doesn’t mean anything anymore”. The definition has never and can never change. All that can happen is folk either aren’t conservative, or abandon conservatism to chase after a demagog.
Propping up Trump isn’t “being on a roll” unless all you want out of the show is to hear Trump being propped up.
This does a disservice to everyone, even Trump supporters. Trump’s negatives aren’t going to go away just because people try to run cover over them.
It’s like calling Rubio a “great guy” even though that guy lied to get elected and immediately tried to ram through an amnesty bill that would have destroyed America. The facts of what Rubio did don’t go away just because they aren’t mentioned and instead he is called a “great guy”.
If Rubio gets elected, he will ram through Amnesty, so propping him up helps nobody. It is the exact same thing with Trump.
The reality is that the Dems will go after EITHER Trump or Cruz in order to get a Clinton or a Sanders in the WH.
Maybe someone who has written books named ‘Lights Out’ and ‘After America’ thinks things are so bad in this country that being engaged in this election is just a waste of time cause I don’t get the impression through his recent articles or this show so far that he is that interested.
If that is the case then why use that fact to put down Cruz’s chance but not Trump’s? Especially when Trump’s negatives are much much greater than Cruz’s.

Steyn also said the both Cruz and Rubio had problems with him too, so it wasn’t just Trump.

Reagan has words for the #NeverTrump Purity Choir. This idea that if they just keep shouting they will get a 100%er elected to do everything they want is a fools notion.

I know this falls on deaf ears with 100%ers but the fact remains, We are a Constitutional Republic that rests on the notion that the people’s Representatives in Government know how to compromise and negotiate.
This feeling that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate the Conservative Media’s 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking. What is more probably is Cruz would be a GOP Carter.
Carter was the same sort of religious political puritan who went to DC and assumed he would dictate his political dogmas to everyone there. The record shows how badly that idea failed.
“Conservative” politicians talk a good game and then go to DC and accomplish nothing. After 30 years of fail, it is time to try another solution. The winning candidate is “GASP” going to have to cut DEALS! And some times those deals require..compromise!!!
Another fail point for the “Principled Conservatives” is they think only as far as the election. Then once they win their purity candidates go to DC and fail against the inertia of the DC/Media political machine. 1994-2000-2010-2014 are all example of where this “Next election” mindset has failed.
Trump is merely the 1st wave of a multi wave assault. Cruz might do for a follow up wave, he is not a 1st wave candidate.Without Trump to lead the way, the Cruz boat would of either been ignored because it was irrelevant, or been shelled into oblivion by the 10s of millions of GOPE attack ads.
The 1st wave job in any assault is to shatter the defenses and open the road for the follow up waves. No matter how flawed you think the vessel is, Trump is the best 1st wave political assault team we have had to hand in my lifetime.
We need to use Trump for all he is worth to shatter the corrupt, “my party right or wrong” mindset that grips vast swaths of the electorate. Break that inertia, get the people thinking outside the party label box and real change is possible. Do not an we slide into a stagnate European style decline that will not end in my lifetime. Cruz shares that agenda point but is not as well equipped by background and media following to achieve that break through as Trump
We either win this now or we have little chance of ever doing it again politically. Once we win we must relentlessly stay on the attack election wave after election wave until we are dead.
I am really not willing to leave this fight to my kids and grand-kids. We have let the ship of state drift since Reagan in the hands of the “smart people”. We failed and most redeem that failure.
This is our generation’s “go” time
