How Trump, Rubio and Cruz Would Fare Against Clinton in November (Clinton 51% - Trump 38%)
NBC News ^ | March 9, 2016 | Carrie Dann

Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders would handily defeat Donald Trump in a general election match-up, while a clash between Clinton and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or Florida Sen. Marco Rubio would be a toss-up, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The poll shows that Trump, who frequently boasts in interviews and campaign appearances that he would beat Clinton in November, would lose a one-on-one contest against her by double digits. In a head-to-head fight, Clinton gets the support of 51 percent of registered voters compared to 38 percent for the real estate mogul.

For Sanders, the margin of victory would be even greater, the poll shows.

The Vermont senator gets 55 percent support in a hypothetical two-person race against Trump, while the GOP front-runner would get just 37 percent.

While Trump remains the front-runner for the GOP nomination, Republicans like former presidential contender Mitt Romney have urged their party's voters to back Cruz or Rubio, whom they say would have a greater chance of defeating the Democratic nominee.

The NBC/WSJ data supports that theory; both Cruz and Rubio would be competitive with the former secretary of state, both running within the margin of error in hypothetical general election battles against Clinton.

Trump's constant bragging and insulting turn off a lot of people. Every poll shows he has very high negatives. PredictWise gives him a 74% chance of winning the nomination but the GOP only a 32% of winning the general election.

Just out of curiosity is that the same poll which said Trump would lose big in SC or the same poll which said Clinton was to win big in MI?
or is it the same poll which has been wrong just about every time.

Just wondering that is all.

Another nothing burger poll from the anti-Trump Nothingness Cafe.

Who’s polling well against Cankles means squat now. Reagan was down 20 points vs Carter at this point in the campaign. But these nothing burgers keep on coming.

The fact that our three front runners are a Clown, a Crook, and a Commie is proof that the US electorate has gone off the deep end and no longer qualified to rule itself.

NBC/WSJ also came out with a poll just before the SC primary showing Cruz ahead. NBC is part and parcel of the democrat party, and WSJ is owned by FOX which is an open borders bunch. Trusting them is like trusting Hillary about her emails.

Is that the same poll that had her beating Bernie by 20 yesterday?

Pray America wakes

And the media haven’t even opened their main line of fire on Trump yet.

Pray for Hillary to have a major debilitating medical event.

Did you watch Trump last night in his speech?

He mentioned the WSJ poll and how it is always wrong. I know people want to try and make it look a bit rosy for their guy , but LOL this poll and other polls are useless as Reagan would have lost seeing he was down 20 points against Carter.

Not one survey since 11 Feb has shown Trump leading vs. Hillary. It's far beyond NBC.

Why are we even talking any more? Why don’t we all just check out and enjoy playing golf or what ever?

With Kaisch/Rubio knocked out Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal polling indicates Cruz will walk right into the nomination and the Presidency.

Obviously there is no need for us to talk or think or do anything in Politics any more. From now on we can simply wait for the Media to publish a poll and follow what ever they direct us to think and do.

One question, why is the much beloved Cruz not beating Trump since he obviously is so worshiped by the voters now?

Here comes the MSM fiction we knew was coming...

If it's "fiction," it's pretty consistent. Do you have survey data that says otherwise?

Trump will beat Shrillary like a chained goat! If she not indicted by convention, he’ll have her indicted in the public eye.

Carter 58 Reagan 38.

Not only is it early, these polls are of registered voters. Hillary faces a lower black turnout which is why she has gone all in on racism.

I have no reason to believe polls showing Cruz running even or beating Hillary.

Maybe more likely Rubio, oddly enough.

I do hope Trump plans a surprise by going heavy on ads early on.
