One of the things that moved me into the #nevercruz camp was how many of his supporters kept questioning my faith and salvation because I support Trump.
Umm...God doesn’t care who I vote for.
This will all backfire on Cruz.
“Most of you dont like Glenn Beck, but when the SHTF, hell be welcome in my foxhole”
Well, you won’t run out of thorazine, that’s fer sure.
Mormons are like that. When I was Mormon (over 20 years ago now), we would say “we are Christians like everyone else” to non Mormons we were trying to convert, but among ourselves would make fun of Christians, especially Evangelicals because Mormonism teaches they are the only ‘real’ Christians and the rest of us are apostates. Here are a couple of quotes by their prophets...(just FYI)
“What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world” Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 270
“With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world.” - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 199
“The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God” - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 171
“Christiansthose poor, miserable priests brother Brigham was speaking aboutsome of them are the biggest whoremasters there are on the earth, and at the same time preaching righteousness to the children of men. The poor devils, they could not get up here and preach an oral discourse, to save themselves from hell; they are preaching their fathers’ sermons preaching sermons that were written a hundred years before they were born. ...You may get a Methodist priest to pour water on you, or sprinkle it on you, and baptize you face foremost, or lay you down the other way, and whatever mode you please, and you will be damned with your priest. - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses, v. 5, p. 89
Prophet John Taylor (1808 - 1887):
“Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century.”
“Where shall we look for the true order or authority of God? It cannot be found in any nation of Christendom.”
“What! Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute beast.”
“What does the Christian world know about God? Nothing... Why so far as the things of God are concerned, they are the veriest fools; they know neither God nor the things of God.”
I have pages more, but these are enough to show that Beck is just following his faith
I liked that so much, I had to see it again. :)
I cant see how a Christian could support Cruz or anyone who uses Christ to get political power.
lol. Not enough superdelegates
“This campaign will not question anyone’s faith...”
Until we do.
Watch CNN on election night and see Amanda Carpenter go unhinged when Donald is mentioned. The other panel members really look at her in surprise. The group I was posting with commented about her too. Very unprofessional and strange. Anderson had to step in at times and try to smooth times over.
My question: did Beck spit after he said this?
He's irresponsible, emotional and embraces hyperbole. That man would get you dead with a quickness. Sayin'
No True Christian...
point of note - Mormon ‘fasting’ is for 24 hours but only 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) it starts after dinner and goes until dinner the next day. There probably are cases where LDS have fasted for more, but that is the general pattern supported by the church.
Uh yeah kinda for me too—I was at the Chicago Rally...my car got ambushed by an angry mob of anarchists—had nothing to do with Trump...It was frightening...When I got home and turned on the TV, I saw Cruz sitting there judging and blaming Trump for the Chicago protest...I cannot tell you how high my blood pressure soared...He was so outrageous with his smarmy condescending snark ...easy for him to talk about how his campaign had no protests—his private posh fundraiser was in safety of a northern suburb.
He is a lawyer, a politician, and a full-fledged DC elitist...and so is his wife—they are the first Bush wedding dontcha know
When I was Mormon, one of my boyfriends would chastise me for drinking non-caffeine herbal tea (his dad owned a national health food company) but would down a six-pack of “Jolt” cola a night.
“...because he promotes Common Sense...”
Common sense is really a sense of the mind of God.
