Why did Bernie Sanders dominate Saturday? Caucuses in states with smaller black populations.
The Washington Compost ^ | March 27, 2016 | Philip Bump

Sen. Bernie Sanders had the best night of his presidential campaign on Saturday, dominating Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the Washington, Hawaii and Alaska state caucuses by wide margins. He cut into Clinton's pledged-delegate lead by at least one-sixth and potentially more. It was the sort of night that he needs more of.

But which he's almost certainly not going to get.

The reason it was such a big night for Sanders was that he dominated in Washington state, beating Clinton by more than 40 points. Washington has a big delegate total, so splitting up the delegates gave Sanders a big margin. His giant wins in Alaska and Hawaii were icing on that cake.

But Alaska and Washington had two characteristics that made them very friendly terrain for Sanders: They were caucuses in predominantly non-black states. And there aren't many more of those on the calendar.

I want to see Bernie win the majority of all delegates, with Clinton only winning due to the superdelegates.

We will see WONDERFUL fireworks from that.

Washington and Oregon have already crossed the Socialist boarder.
Hillary is probably too conservative for the NW USA

Karl Marx HATED the middle class.
He DESPISED them.
He wanted their blood FLOWING in the streets.

He didn’t have a single idea geared to helping the middle class.

But here we sit in 2016 and Bernie Sanders says Marxism will help the middle class (all we have to do is call it something than what it is.)

And you middle class Marxists just can’t wait to vote for Bernie. :)

No wonder the Muslims are taking over.
We’re being ruled by the corrupt who are propped up by the stupid.

Actually here in WA, it is the Seattle area that decides everything in the state. The east side of the state is conservative, and also the south. But the main population is socialist Seattle.

The anti-establishment sentiment could also play a role. Hillary is corrupt and left-wing. By comparison, Bernie is more trustworthy and just as left-wing. Some Dems might not want a Clinton dynasty just as many do not want a Bush dynasty. I can stand to listen to Bernie but not to Hillary. Hillary’s style of speaking if awful.

This doesn't bode well for Shrillary in the general. The black votes are a given for any Democrat. Winning them in a primary is no big achievement. Meanwhile, where are all these angry white voters going to go after Shrillary and her super-delegates ensure her coronation at the DNC convention?

If Trump is the GOP nominee, many of them will go for Trump. It seems ludicrous now because Trump and Bernie are 180 degrees out of phase with each other in terms of political ideology. A pure capitalist vs a pure socialist.

But what Trump has going for him in the general is that he is hated as much by the Republican establishment as much as Bernie is. Politics makes for strange bedfellows and there is a lot of that anti-establishment vibe with Trump that Bernie has. Many Democrats will not feel disloyal by pulling the lever for Trump because they do not see him as a "real" Republican like say a Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney or Ted Cruz.

It would be like how many of us Freepers would feel if the Republicans nominated Jeb Bush or Paul Ryan and there was a rogue populist candidate on the Democrat side that the Democrat establishment positively hated but he fought them and won the nomination anyhow. Many of us would see that guy as an anti-establishment hero and would consider supporting him over our own weak establishment-backed nominee.

Lastly, don't discount Trump making inroads on the black vote. I think he will surprise in that area.

I do not think I have seen anyone as white as the population of Seattle. When you are a vegan like many in Seattle living in drizzly city whose most advantageous view of the sun is on a TV screen, everyone other caucasian in the country looks hispanic.

We had the Bern visit or little city and the illegal immigrant community got all flustered over this city councilman's meme.

He's standing firm and laughing at the whiners.

The whitest town I have ever seen is Friday Harbor, WA. At least in Seattle there are a few non-whites.

Funny anecdote from Friday Harbor: Waiting in line outside a coffee shop I heard the anguished cry of a young child in a stroller - “Mommy what’s that light? It hurts!” Mom replies - “That’s the sun dear. It will go away soon”

Pssst, want to know a little secret? Many poor blacks don’t like Jews. Look at the remarks Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan (sp?) have made in the past.

While that may be true, there is another obvious options Black Commie Only like black Commies, White Commies Only like White Commies. In a pinch when more bodies are needed at a demonstration the two may get along for a few hours
