Rep. Gosar Questions BLM Director on Antiquities Act Abuse

Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-04) questions BLM Director Neil Kornze during a House Oversight Subcommittee hearing about the coordination between the White House and the BLM to lock up more public lands in Western states using the Antiquities Act.

This was one of the issues the Bundy's and LaVoy Finicum learned about and were working to help the local citizens.

Owyhee Canyonlands Monument is being considered by Obama's administration. "A decision by President Barack Obama to protect up to 2.5 million acres surrounding the remote Owyhee Canyonlands could help cement his legacy for protecting the country’s wild lands.

But the action could also further inflame critics of federal land management and complicate efforts to restore calm to the vast high plains country of southeastern Oregon." “Just arrived at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. Mom fell early yesterday morning and is still so painful I fear she may have broken a hip or her coccyx. An ambulance ride for mom, sounds like a book title to me. We’re waiting for x-ray to see what’s going on. Funny day, for the first time I felt very dizzy and light headed this morning but I worked my way out of it. I think I may need to eat something.

Jerry called while I was on the way to the hospital. They are moving him yet again. He tells me that every time they move him he has to be strip searched and shackled and they take away anything he has and put him in different clothing. Clothing of the orange type. Once again, I don’t know where they are taking him or when we might be able to talk with each other again.

Thank God he was able to call me just before they took him. He told me he loves me and thanks all of you for your support. Then he dropped the phone and he was gone like a huge wave sweeping him into the ocean there one second, gone the next. We miss each other so much. I still kiss the outline of his hand that he sent me every morning when I get up and every night when I climb into that empty bed. I love you Jerry DeLemus, my wonderful husband.”
