If it’s chilly, I wouldn’t blame you. That cold weather can’t be good for your back either.

I need to peek in on the eaglets [poor #3 isn’t going to hatch I’m thinking] and the owlets. Whoooo....

Nope. No fun being out there all day when it’s chilly. And it does make my back hurt more. Been there, done that, and had enough of it.

I don’t think Decorah’s 3rd egg is going to hatch either. It should have by now.

Lots of activity at the owl’s nest earlier but I’ve gone over to Hungary now that it’s daytime there. The storks at Zalaistvand have one egg but stupid Dad kicked it out of the center of the nest yesterday while placing new grass. Stupid birds don’t have enough sense to roll it back so it’s still sitting on the edge.

I hope the other eggs don’t suffer a similar fate.

Herons aren’t the brightest birds in the tree, eh? LOL!

How many eggs do they typically lay?

Guess I’d better go. I’m off tomorrow...again...but am kind of sleepy now.

These are storks, not herons. But yep, they aren’t very bright. LOL

They lay anywhere from 2 to 5 eggs usually. One nest I’m keeping tabs on has 4 as of yesterday.

I did watch a Great Blue Heron nest on the Cornell campus for a couple of years and those birds seemed pretty smart. Did a fabulous job raising their young. Then the nest was blown out of the tree right before the herons returned for the 3rd nesting season and they didn’t rebuild there. :-(

Growing up we had the Dog ‘N Suds drive in restaurant. Best root beer floats in Indy. Dad took us there for a summer evening treat.

We had a place like this in Maryland called the Twin Kiss...best root beer floats around. Parents took us for ice cream on summer afternoons. I liked the sundaes instead.

probably builder guys, have come thru checking this and that, and locating electrical.

Looks like they are working on a plan.

Didn't get to sleep until after 10, woke at 2:30 for bathroom break, then at 4:30 when hubby got up and Eada started to whine. Going to have to have a nap later. Definitely one of the times I am very, very happy not to be working. LOL

Feeling much better this morning. Still have a sore throat but I've been drinking fluids and it's helped.

Bo and I enjoyed our time out at the lake yesterday. Looking forward to more outside activity later today
