Oh, by the way… most airports don’t screen employees arriving at work(DUH!)

Planning on flying anywhere in the near future? Just in case you’re one of those smug people who don’t get nervous about taking a plane, allow me to give you at least one reason to join in on the apprehension felt by many of your fellow travelers. The head of the TSA has confirmed that at nearly any airport you visit around the United States today, the hundreds or thousands of employees bustling back and forth around the facility were not screened on their way inside the fence that morning. Well, duh. Anyone with any slight powers of observation can easily see the gaping holes at just about any major airport in the world. But, for the flyers, let the frisking begin.

It’s only the passenger terminal which is “secure”. The rest is fine. Nobody is gonna get to those low paid Muslim workers.

TSA'a primary objective isn't to stop muslim terrorists.

It is to keep American citizens in line and properly cowed by federal authority.

This is very misleading.

Everyone that works at an airport must go through an FBI background check, fingerprints the whole nine yards.

Also access to sterile areas, ie where the planes are, must go through a TSA check point. Access to the ramps are likewise gated and require proper airport badging for entry.

Is it perfect? Of course not but to imply that airport security in this country is loosy-goosy is BS.

Have recently flown after 20 years. Shocked at the amount of head covered Islamics at each airport. Many more than population stats would expect.

And although the employees are vetted they are not examined each morning when they show up for work.

that is a mistake.

Having the proper badge is meaningless.

More security theater. Remember the TSA has never stopped a terrorist, the passengers did in those cases. They also missed something like 90% of explosives And weapons in tests.

Thanks to affirmative action and muzzy outreach, there are a lot of potential jihadis working at airports.

I worked for years "behind the lines" in airports. If you have a badge, you get in. Nobody ever looked at mine to verify the that badge was actually mine or that it was genuine.

News Flash: Anyone arriving at any U.S. airport is not screened by the TSA, either. It's only when you enter the 'sterile' area that you must be searched, and this goes for pilots, flight attendants, and baggage handlers, as well as passengers.

Much ado about nothing.

If you landed at an airport in the USA from Mars you’d think you landed in Mogadishu.

Are you talking about TSA? Detroit or Philadephia?

Well, they do now. And I work "behind the lines" every day. You can't get into a secure non-public area w/o scanning your badge and the airport audits badges yearly.

In every airport, 24/7, at every checkpoint? You can't know that.

Yep, we’ve already seen the ‘vetting’ process in action in CA.

I’m SURE Ahmed I is fully scrutinizing Ahmed II’s badge EVERY time/day. /s

Really?

So how many incidents have occurred inside the security perimeter at US Airports since 9/11?

That would be none.
