Strong headwinds of unpopularity continue to hobble leading Republicans Donald Trump and Ted Cruz with the public at-large, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
By contrast, most Republicans see Trump and Cruz in a favorable light - 56 and 58 percent, respectively - while John Kasich is less popular among fellow partisans (47 percent) despite receiving the best ratings among the broader electorate.
The poll finds Trump suffering little damage from recent controversies over punishments for women who have abortions and the arrest of his campaign manager, though the real-estate moguls ratings are still in the doldrums.
Thirty-one percent of Americans have a favorable view of Trump while 67 percent are unfavorable -- nearly identical to an early March Post-ABC poll which found he would be the most disliked major-party nominee since at least 1984. Over half the public (53 percent) continues to see Trump in a strongly unfavorable light, ticking down from 56 percent last month.
Cruz fares better with 36 percent favorable and 53 percent unfavorable among the public at-large; his strongly unfavorable mark is 20 percentage-points below Trumps level (33 percent for Cruz vs. 53 percent for Trump).

That’s why he leads in every poll and why Democrats are changing to Republican to vote for him.
Because everyone hates him so much....
Give Ted time; he’ll catch up.
Washington Post BS.
Always trust WaPo.
And yesterday, the Cruz folk told us to trust PBS
Wunnerful world : )
I hate him so much I’m going to vote for him- at LEAST once
Waiting for WaPo’s headline on Hillary’s 56% unfavorability rating.
And what about Hillary or Bernie?
How many Americans believe Hillary is guilty of Treason and the High Crime of accepting bribes from foreign countries?
Nobody likes DT but he still leads most polls............still not gettin’ it.
Another rehashed poll of nonsense.
I’ve explained this 30 times. Not gonna do it again.
RE: Thats why he leads in every poll and why Democrats are changing to Republican to vote for him.
Let’s not forget, in the past primaries, where statewide votes are held, Trump on average gets 37% of the popular vote.
Let’s not equate those who will vote for him even (as he said ) if he were to shoot someone in the middle of fifth avenue with the rest of the voters.
I find it hard to believe that both are less popular than Hitlary... really??? if thats really the case, we are so screwed... I know NO ONE that likes Hitlary
RE: Nobody likes DT but he still leads most polls............still not gettin it.
Close to 40% is not nobody. However, let’s not forget the other 60% ( and the margin of error ).
The unasked question is whether a voter with an unfavorable opinion of Trump will vote for him.
I support Trump, but I wouldn’t want to have lunch with him. He’s what we need right now, but not the kind of person I’d want to hang out with.
Just sounds like a bit of a contradiction to me.
WaPo is nothing but an extension of the DNC propaganda machine. You can’t believe anything they write.
Hello President Hillary and First Dude Bill Clinton.
Wouldn’t it be great if a polling company conducted a poll about favorable vs unfavorable of the GOP
