[April 14, 2016] Exclusive — Trump California Political Director: ‘We Have Already Outmatched’ Cruz

Tim Clark, hand-picked by Republican frontrunner Donald Trump this week to be his new California political director, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview Wednesday evening that the Trump campaign has "already outmatched" Sen. Ted Cruz in the Golden State.

"I've only been on the job for the past 24 hours," Clark said, "but it is a large, grassroots, unstoppable, momentous movement that is elevating Donald Trump in the state."

On Monday, Cruz's own California political director, former state GOP chair Mike Schroeder, speculated that the Trump campaign would fail to find enough delegates to fill three slots in each of the state's 53 congressional districts by the May 8 deadline.

Clark told Breitbart News that the Trump campaign would easily meet that deadline.

"We've got a list of about a thousand people who would love to be delegates for Donald Trump," he said, noting that the campaign was "vetting these names very carefully."

He added: "Based on what I know of what's happening in California, the organic Trump for President movement has already outmatched the organized, paid Cruz for President effort, and I feel very strongly we're going to be able to leverage the Trump for President volunteers into even greater activities, so I'm not worried about it."

Clark called the Trump campaign in California "a large, grassroots, unstoppable, momentous movement that is elevating Donald Trump in the state."

When asked which districts the campaign would be targeting, Clark said the campaign considered every one of them to be competitive: "We've got 53 districts that are in play. We have the task of building 53 different campaign plans for each of those districts-which we're doing. And we intend to contest every single one of those ... we believe we can win all 53 and take home 172 delegates."

With the new Fox poll that came out today showing Trump leading Cruz by 27 points in California I guess his new California political director was not just blowing smoke. Looks to be a long day for Cruz in California and Trump should get the magic number of 1,237 and win the nomination on the first ballot.

That 40yr-Establishment Manafort seems to have been a good investment. Good.

Trump’s CA poll number is bigger than Kasich and that other guy’s combined.

Poor ole Lyin’ Ted just doesn’t seem to be having much fun lately with Trump living in his head rent-free. All he can say whenever he gets on TV is “Donald” this and “Donald” that...and he knows there’s some stuff out there that could things even worse.

I read that unlike in NY, where he needed to break 50% in a CD to get the 3 delegates, in CA he only needs a plurality. So if he beats Ted Cruz and Kasich by 1% he gets all 3.

Trump has some attributes of Cruz Campaign/Arnold without the zipper problem.

Trump has evidently made inroads in Pennsylvania where Cruz was hoping to convince the unbound delegates that traditionally are either awarded proportionally or go to the winner to support him instead. For a while it looked like Trump could win the state by 30% but have fewer delegates.

I can’t spell hyperbole, so I’ll just call this BS.

Cool, cool, but don’t stop, don’t think you got it wrapped up.

End Cruz.

California sure ain’t no Wisconsin, and Cruz is going to lose most primaries between now and CA. Most likely he will lose by landslide amounts. Cruz is done for and I’ll be popping champagne on June 8th, as will most of the rest of us on FR.

We’ll have to have a Trump party on a thread that day in celebration. You Cruzites can have your own sore Cruzerman party on your very own thread on June 8th, lol, as any champagne you would have hoped for will have fizzled, just like Cruz himself.

TRUMP has broken through. He has exposed the Cruz Delegate Steal and is reversing it.

THIS is catching on like wildfire. TRUMP supporters in these state conventions have figured out they can play that Cruz game right back.

Watch for many of those so called Cruz delegates, in states he did not win, start dropping out on him to avoid the shame and embarrassment that comes with being publically found out, for behaving like fascists and for having blocked TRUMP supporters from serving as delegates if they said they were *for* Trump.

Thank you for posting.

That’s because you’re a moron.

You see, Trump has beaten your ‘organized’ candidate with no organizations whatsoever, because his grassroots support is so strong. Now, all it takes is a tiny bit of organizing and his grassroots support will destroy your pathetic loser phony candidate in a New York Values Minute.

So, enjoy all the gloating you and your fellow morons did during Wisconsin and wherever else you had ‘victories’, because now you’re about to get a lesson in the power of REAL grassroots support.

Cruz is all set to be crushed on Tuesday, probably coming in last place in at least 3 of the contests. Big wins in all 5 states will set Trump up for a big win in Indiana. If all that comes about, Trump will be like a boulder rolling down hill, picking up speeding, and crushing everything in his way.

GOPe members feeling shame? I don't believe it. More likely they'll vote for Trump and pretend it never happened.

Everybody loves Trump except neurotic people and sociopaths. That's why you find it hard to believe, because Cruz has to seduce, and lie, and find freaks and weirdos willing to sell their soul to Satan in order to follow him into hell. That takes more than 24 hours ordinarily for Cruzer.
