“Cruz was already mathematically eliminated April 19th.”

I see a lot of this posted and it is irrelevant. Trump has to win 1237 delegates to put pressure on the RNC to get behind Trump. If he cannot secure 1237, that isn’t Cruz’s problem, it’s Trump’s.

I want Cruz, but I am also a realist. Cruz will not get the nomination, period. What I like about Cruz staying in the race is it forces Trump to up his game. Trump has to work for every delegate, unlike Hillary who has been anointed and the nomination process is a formality.

Trump must be ready to take on the Clinton machine. Which means the nomination process is his trial by fire in preparation for the general. I’m pretty confident once Trump hits 1237, Cruz will pledge his delegates to Trump, as he should. At that point, everything will come together.

“I think he’s been hinting Rubio for weeks! Delegates and future, but Rubio went soft on immigration so we’ll see... “

Rubio is gang of 8. 100% diametrically opposed to Trump’s platform. There is no way in hell Trump will select him for VP, especially if Trump can win Florida without Rubio. It will be either Kacish or Walker or Martinez for the simple reason that Kacish brings Ohio and republicans cannot win without taking Ohio. Walker brings Wisconsin which can impact Ohio and Martinez brings Latino women into the fold which increases Trump’s women vote total and plays to legal immigration.

As I have posted a zillion times....Ted Cruz is not going to be the GOP POTUS nominee....ever!!! And any person that casts a vote for Ted Cruz is throwing their precious vote into the garbage can. Forget the politics, folks. Ted Cruz irks all folks when he says “Good Morning” to them.

Cruz has not one iota of charisma, class, diplomacy or positive personality about him. What can expect with a nutcase for a father and lunatic, ranting, Glenn Beck, his biggest supporter. Go figure!!!

Like I say, folks, forget the politics, Ted Cruz is just another self-loving, egotisitical politician with disdain and hate in his heart for all us common folks that make our country run, every day.

“Cruz’s problem is that his brand of conservatism doesn’t wear well outside TX.”

Cruz’s brand of Conservatism? You will have to explain this one since your statement just denigrated religious conservatives, traditional conservatives and constitutional conservatives.

Or as we like to say, the base, which who without a Republican cannot win the whitehouse.

Nice table in #10 but I think it's way too generous to Cruz. For example, I think the PA and CA splits will be much more lopsided for Trump.

Either way, Trump easily gets to the 1237 rendering all this wishful second ballot "delegate wrangling" by Cruz moot.

Question for you. If Cruz voters stay home, does Trump win the White House?

I used to think the same thing about TC being a Supreme Court Judge, but then I got to thinking: “If he believes that he is eligible to be The President of The United States of America, even though he was born in Canada, what other parts of the Constitution of the United States could he or would he contaminate?”

There is no limit to the amount of damage that he could do, given his mindset of being eligible for POTUS.

Delegates are not selected by the primary, so it is possible for party insiders to choose delegates who are "Trojan horse delegates," meaning they are loyal to a candidate other than the one they are bound to on the first ballot.

This is a prime GOPe opportunity to allow party apparatchiks to "steal" delegates.

Oh well, as Cruz would say, "those are the rules".

Rank and file voters need to be made aware of such things...

The uninformed voter seems to be a thing of the past. One can’t help but suspect that the Cruz delegate shenanigans at the Maine convention will turn even more folks away from Cruz.

Exactly: Cruz is still stealing delegates

-- Rank and file voters need to be made aware of such things... --

Most of them don't have the time or inclination to learn, and most don't care. See "primary election participation rate."

That said, Trump's messages do resonate, whether the voters understand the details or not. And they resonate in large part becuse the public knows or senses that the political class is a bunch of corrupt opportunists who are selling the country out.

Trump making “the art of the deal” with the voters. Meanwhile Cruz is making “the art of the steal” with the delegates.

“Cruz will have a very bad April”

The states coming up are where people statewide actually vote. None of this caucus nonsense.

Cruz’s problem is that his brand of conservatism doesn’t wear well outside TX.

And even the South didn’t warm up to him. It all went downhill when he lost SC.

Actually that’s not true...Cruz would have easily won in the south without trump....trump is a once in a lifetime phenom. An amazing salesman. No other politician could do what he’s done.had all the flip flops and gaffes and still win
