You should have seen the previous “landing”. Still, and all, pretty remarkable. Life in the fast lane, tends to be, a work in progress.

Pretty danged cool.

This seems like it would be very hard to do, but with computers, the right software, and engines, it may not be all that tough.

Very interesting...

That Mars shot they’re planning looks very interesting also.

But I think SpaceX was just awarded an $83m contract to launch a GPS satellite for the U.S. Air Force, right? Perhaps SpaceX can do it cheaper than ULA since SpaceX has reusable launch vehicle capability now??

It’s really nice that you can rotate the view around and watch as you wish. Amazing job. They’re talking about doing a Martian Landing and sample return mission in 2018, way faster than NASA.

Musk is trying to get his name up there with Edison, Newton, Einstein, and so on. He’s a real visionary and has been unbelievably been able to do so much.

It does appear to lean to the right after engine cut out, but that could be distortion. Seas calm, not much wind.

Great job.

“But I think SpaceX was just awarded an $83m contract to launch a GPS satellite for the U.S. Air Force, right? Perhaps SpaceX can do it cheaper than ULA since SpaceX has reusable launch vehicle capability now??”

The government said the SpaceX launch would be about 40% cheaper than a ULA launch. :-)

...

There’s nothing to indicate the scale. The seas were actually quite rough and I think the gusts were up to 50 mph. The rocket was blown off center by the wind. Once it touched the deck it could no longer compensate for the wind. The previous long range videos showed how much the rocket was leaning into the wind.
