The full moon ought to make interesting for the herd tonight!
Son came over for breakfast at 9:00 this morning and we visited and hung until about 3:00.
I was telling son that today is the 36th anniversary of the Mt. Saint-Helens volcanic eruption west of here. I was stationed at Fort Lewis South of Seattle and we only got a little ash fall.
But over here in Yakima where I now live, they got a foot to a foot and a half of ash, ALL OVER THE CITY, people were shoveling and cleaning up the ash for months afterwards. It was devastating.
I remember my FIL telling me that 10 years after the eruption, he was ripping out a hedge bush in his yard and found the skeletal remains of one of his cats who must of hid in the hedge when the volcanic ash started falling and suffocated in it.
What a time that was!
Anyway, just chilling out now.
Mrs SR & I expect him too.
Howdy, PRO!
That was a nice long visit today with your son. Did y’all save the world from chaos at all or do something different this time? :-)
It’s been 36 years since Mt. Saint Helens blew? Dang! It doesn’t seem that long. I still remember watching news coverage in horror like it was last week. Time really gets away, doesn’t it.
How sad for your FIL’s cat. And he must have felt horrible when he found the remains and realized what had happened to the poor thing.
The full moon isn’t until Sat. so we still have a little time before it gets wild in here. They must be planning to really cut loose this time because they’re conserving their energy again tonight. LOL
That’s cool because I don’t like interruptions when Survivor is on. They’re allowing me to watch in peace tonight.
Howdy, LUV.
Whew, that pic really tugs at the heart, doesn’t it? VERY touching.
Always remembering!
...till they all come home.... *sniff*
It sure does...and happens hundreds of times a day with families who apart because they love their country more than self! God bless them every one!
Son and I did save the world from evil today but we always also talk at length about the current events of the day.
I'm blessed that both my kids haven't drank the liberal kool-aid. Maybe when they're not so busy, they'll become FReepers, who knows?
What?...
What?...
What indeed! LOL!
WOOOHOOOO!!! :)
And their efforts and sacrifices are not taken for granted!
LOL! It isn’t easy getting pix when they’re going full bore because they’re moving so fast. But I know if I dig through all the pix I’ve snapped over the years, there are some of them acting up. They’re good at it, even when the moon isn’t full.
Ok, so y’all did have some fun - - it wasn’t a totally serious day. :-)
Cool that your kids managed to survive without being dragged down the liberal path by peers and/or school teachers. I see so many of our friends’ kids who were dragged down that path and it makes one want to grab them and shake them.
Ya done good raising ‘em. :-)
Then he really needs his friend and some pampering.
Sounds like a terrific pub night.
Today was another matter....quite the “adventure” you had. BUT....Blue is now home, with gas, and tomorrow is a new day.
I wuzn't payin' attention.
It’s out there somewhere just waiting for the right guy, you, to come along.
I’m hanging, I’m hanging....and I think I might make it.
Indeed they are not...and I detest the ones who try to do so! Grr!
Me either! LOL!
I was off in birdland, as it were! ;)
