To the casual observer, it would seem that gay rights falls neatly on the political spectrum. Democrats champion bills that aim to protect LGBT people from discrimination, and Republicans increasingly propose and pass ones aimed to protect the religiously devout.
But there's growing evidence that Republicans in Congress and across the country are sidestepping the more controversial religious protection and bathroom bills and, in some cases, embracing LGBT non-discrimination laws instead....
And more broadly, Republicans in Congress, Southern-state governors and a business community that usually aligns with the GOP seem to be eschewing some of the more controversial religious freedom and bathroom bills and the drama that often comes with it. And rather than citing a friend or family member who's gay or transgender, they're citing political reasons for stepping out of the debate. Here are four of the big ones:
1. Businesses aren't on board
When North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) signed his state's law... his opponent seized not on McCrory's alleged affront to LGBT rights, but instead opted for a different attack: McCrory is bad for business....
2. The party's current LGBT position isn't winning them any new constituents
The problem with many of these religious freedom and bathroom bills, Dent told The Fix, is that they leave their supporters open to accusations they support discrimination....
3. Stepping into bathrooms and businesses is big government
Another argument you hear LGBT advocates make is that Republicans are trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist....
4. The bills are more drama than they're worth
"We know as soon as this bill passes, we're going to be sued." Tennessee state Rep. Susan Lynn (R) said that in April as she pulled her bathroom bill from the legislature....

GO READ THE WHOLE THING.
The transgender movement has never been about gender. Its all about sex. Sex is the real target. Gender is merely the politicized linguistic vehicle that facilitates a legal ban on sex distinctions.
There arent a whole lot of dots to connect to uncover the logic of where this leads: if you abolish sex distinctions in law, you can abolish state recognition of biological family ties, and the state can regulate personal relationships and consolidate power as never before.
More macaca from the Washington Post.
Where is the story about the Methodists strongly rejecting abortion and gay marriage last week?
Tell that to Target, liars.
Some discriminations are the requirement of sanity. Those who do not act like what nature and nature’s God made them are mentally off base and it should not be tolerated at the expense of the common good. They should be lovingly told they cannot behave that way in public.
Because they’re terrified by the media and the thugs.
There is a higher purpose in standing up for the privacy rights and the religious rights of Christ followers, however.
See, it isn’t necessarily about being “popular”, but about being truthful.
And despite the left’s whining, those who hold to biblical principles are the ones on the right side of history.
Well, the Gay Mafia has certainly captured the business community. At least big business. They’ve learned how to goose Twitter and Facebook so that about 30 hard-core activists can make it look as if half of America is boycotting your company.
Because there is no issue they won't cave on.
Had a nightmare about all this perversion last night. Dreamed I was at a resort but the rooms didn’t have baths. The baths were in the restaurant. You had to bathe right there in the open with people eating dinner. Posting this will give “them” their next wall bashing.
whoa, here comes wapo again to remind everyone how evil the GOP is..shocker!
Because they’re spineless wimps?
There once was a time in the military when LGBT was considered “unnatural.”
ARTICLE 125. SODOMY
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
There once was time when we called it like it was and didn’t slap a bunch lipstick on a pig and call it a democrat prom queen.
We certainly live in different times.
LGBTs may just be the trigger for open revolt.
If so, they are actually good for our future.
But, given the fact that they are *sshats, the future may not be so good for them.
They’re stupid and weak.
Throw them out!
Pure baloney. It's not like she'll have to go hire an attorney or make appearances in court. There are plenty of government lawyers on the payroll now and the government doesn't seem to have any issues with passing other laws where they know there will be suits. Just an excuse to cover for defying the will of her constituents.
The only two choices is they’re spineless or evil. Could be either one.
It could progress to common baths as in other primitive cultures.
But the body has its own language. It shouts. “Male.” “Female.” It is real. It is the gift of nature and nature will be disobeyed to the loss of individual and societal sanity.
Sen. Richard Burr: HB2 "too expansive"
Republican Sen. Richard Burr said North Carolinas Republican lawmakers went too far when they passed House Bill 2, and said they need to rein it in before a judge does it for them....
We all know reason ZERO -
They have no fight in them.
