Top Donald Trump aide Corey Lewandowski on Sunday defended Trump’s recent criticism of New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, a fellow Republican, and deflected a host of other complaints about Trump's presidential campaign, saying the real issues are jobs and the economy.

Lewandowski on Sunday argued the real issues are jobs, the economy and immigration.

“We need to stop illegal immigration,” he said. “We need to put people back to work, cut taxes. That’s what this is about.”

Absolutely right. The real issues are indeed the jobs and the economy.

"It's the economy, stupid" -- it still is.

“We need to stop illegal immigration,”
**********************

That’s what has propelled Trump to the nomination and scared the hell out of the establishment.
That is why they have fought his nomination harder than they ever fought Obama on anything.
The citizens have wanted the illegal alien inundation stopped long ago and the multi-national politicians in both parties thought they could just ignore us as they gave away our country.

This country is at idle speed taking on water. Will take a really good engineer to right the ship. Hey Donald! a ship is nothing but a floating building!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the globalists are pushing their anti Trump venom. From today’s International New York Times:

Martinez has been an aweful GOV. Trump just read the economic stats that are worse since she became GOV.

If it were not for her being a Latina, we would not be talking about her. Did she ever even get rid of drivers licenses for illegals, voter id.

Has she made sure E Verify is used in her state?

All I know is she hates Trump, for advocating a wall. Meanwhile she hasn’t stopped drugs at the border that poison people in all the states.

Martinez is not suing Obama to stop the drug cartels

She isn’t doing a very good job and is a #NeverTrumper

Cory did a great job in that interview.

And Newt is wrong about Susana Martinez, we need to vet our own “conservatives” in an impartial way or we are hypocrites.

In 2000 and 2004 I took the day off from work and went to New Mexico to try to help win the state for George Bush. In 2000 he lost the state by 300 votes. In 2004 he won it by 6,000 votes.

I was pretty proud of my little part. I didn’t go in 2008 or 2012 because McCain and Romney weren’t making an effort for the state. I guess Trump won’t either.

It’s a shame to let a state slip away into the hopeless category when it could be fought over if the effort was made, the resources provided and the candidate doesn’t do stupid things like attacking the Republican governor.

That office I helped in 2004 was the most organized effort I have ever seen in my 30 + years in the Republican Party. They had their voters identifies and were crossing them off as they voted and sent people to their house if they hadn’t voted by lunchtime.

Newt used the opportunity to take a shot a Trump. I guess he likes his job at Fox better than the chance to work for Trump.

That’s great that you helped George W Bush become our president.

I think Trump will try hard everywhere, he is not writing off any state.

Well New Mexico is a tough yet possible state.

Governor Martinez has an incredible organization in the state which has let her win twice.

Is Trump going to build his own state organization from scratch, or is he going to borrow the governor’s.

If he wants to use her’s, it might make sense to not do stupid stiff like insulting her. Was there even a reason for the insults? It just seems they came out of no where. Can he not stop himself from the constant insults?

I saw that interview. My question is: Can Fox News Stop their insulting comments about Trump? I was livid by the time this interview was over.

Sounds as if Martinez HAD NO INTENTION of helping Trump (otherwise she would have at least stayed neutral on the wall)...so I guess what Trump said will not matter anyway.

Martinez is an uber RINO who governs like a democrat in anything to do with the immigration problem. She knows to be elected she has to act like a democrat and she’s good at that. She has been terrible for conservative principles in NM. She was also NEVER on the short list for Trump’s VP. Chris Wallace is a democrat mole.

Chris Wallace had Corey Lewandowsk on Fox Sunday. Corey did a great job defending Trump, but Wallace did every nasty insinuation he could. It was so bad.

Wallace’s questions:
WALLACE: Corey, as the senator asked, what is Trump afraid of? (Bernie asks about debating Trump)
WALLACE: All right. Trump wasn’t just fighting Democrats, but he also was taking on Republicans. He, for instance, he went after the Republican governor of New Mexico, Susana Martinez.
WALLACE: Corey, why on earth would the now Republican nominee since he’s clinched the nomination, why would he call out the popular governor of a swing state like New Mexico who just happens to be the head of the Republicans Governor Association?
WALLACE: Gingrich went on to say that Trump sometimes, quote, “goes off the deep end.”
That doesn’t sound like something you want in a president.

I can’t stand Chris Wallace.
