Clinton veterans offensive taps Northam to blast Trump

Pivoting to veterans issues on the day after Memorial Day, the Hillary Clinton campaign is taking aim at GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, deploying veterans in key battleground states to disparage the brash billionaire's words and record on military issues.
In swing state Virginia, Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph S. Northam, a former Army doctor who treated soldiers during the Persian Gulf War, said Trump's veterans record "shows that he's only out to help one person: Donald Trump."
The salvo comes amid questions over the proceeds of a veterans charity fundraiser Trump held in January that he claimed raised $6 million. The GOP candidate is scheduled to hold a press conference later today to explain how much was raised and where it went.
Trump also ignited controversy regarding veterans during his primary campaign when he disparaged the military service of U.S. Sen. John McCain, a POW in Vietnam.
“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
Northam, a graduate of Virginia Military Institute who is running for governor in 2017, said in a news release from the Clinton campaign: "it is a universal truth beyond political debate that the people who serve our country are patriots, and for someone running for president to have disparaged their service and insulted their sacrifice is disgraceful."
The local push on veterans' issues could resonate in Virginia, home to the largest naval base in the world in Norfolk and more than 800,000 veterans and active military personnel.
Virginia is one of more than a half dozen states up for grabs this November. Most electoral college calculations suggest Virginia and its 13 electoral votes are key to Republican hopes of gaining the 270 necessary to win the White House.

They keep repeating the criticism of McCain as if it’s the only reason Trump supports veterans. This is all BS. Democrats hate veterans and hate soldiers’ votes.

Bill Clinton was DRAFTED and refused to serve, fled his country in wartime to avoid military service. He then used his political contacts acquired when he worked in Arkansas Senator Fullbrights office when he attended college at Georgetown Univ in Wash DC to defy the draft
Trump should hammer those facts, long censored from the American people by the Corrupt Liberal Media home.
