Criminal Charges Possible In Killing of Cincinnati Gorilla (liberals/Reuters gone wild!)
Reuters News Wire ^ | Tue May 31, 2016 10:22pm EDT | CINCINNATI | BY GINNY MCCABE

Police may bring criminal charges over a Cincinnati Zoo incident in which a gorilla was killed to rescue a 4-year-old boy who had fallen into its enclosure, a prosecutor said on Tuesday.

The death of Harambe, a 450-pound (200-kg) gorilla, also prompted the animal rights group Stop Animal Exploitation Now to file a negligence complaint on Tuesday against the zoo with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The group is seeking the maximum penalty of $10,000.

The group said in its complaint letter that the child's ability to get past the barrier was proof the zoo was negligent and should be fined for a "clear and fatal violation of the Animal Welfare Act."

Mounting outrage over Saturday's killing of the Western lowland silverback, an endangered species, sparked criticism of both the zoo and the child's parents. Online petitions at change.org drew more than 500,000 signatures demanding "Justice for Harambe."

Cincinnati police are taking a second look at possible criminal charges in the incident after initially saying no one was charged. There was no indication of whether the investigation would focus on the zoo or the child's parents.

"Once their investigation is concluded, they will confer with our office on possible criminal charges," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said in a statement.

They are obviously racists since they value the life of a gorilla over a black child. Sic the BLM folks on ‘em.

This is insane!

I feel bad about the gorilla, but the zoo keepers had a very short time to make a decision and they needed to save the child.

What if the gorilla had hurt or killed the child? Then the zoo would probably be held responsible for not choosing the life of a child over the life of an animal.

Bunk. The creepy, weirdo animal worshiping misanthropists can pursue it, if they want to, though. The general response will be shutdowns of zoos for lack of business. Then, it will be back to Africa for the gorillas, so they can be hunted, bagged and feasted upon by the locals there.

Make a zoo for these people, complete with waivers as they enter the gate, no fences to hold the animals back from the people.... I would love to see the webcam footage from the polar bear tank....

And now we enter the politically correct persecution phase of the incident.

Yup! and if it weren’t for the horrible “white people ran zoos” many MORE animals in Africa would NOW be extinct!

“If Jack freeking Hanna says they made the right call, THEY MADE THE RIGHT CALL!”

People are missing the point here. You can agree that the zoo did the right thing under the circumstances while still thinking the parents were negligent and need to be held accountable. They are two separate things.

And I would bet a WHOLE lot of money that the parents will sue the zoo before this is over. That will show just how grateful they are to the zoo for “doing the right thing”.

Cincinnati should call in Marilyn Mosby, she’ll indict the heck out of everyone, warranted or not and they’re not IMHO.

Heard a radio host say today...and it’s so true. You can ask these folks who protest the killing of this gorilla how many senators we have. The first five amendments to the constitution. Name three supreme court justices. How many stripes on the U.S. flag. What are we observing on Memorial day.

Most could not answer correctly, but they’d all know the name of this gorilla.
