Ben Howe, a leader of the dwindling so-called #NeverTrump group of moderate bloggers, pundits, and political consultants on the right, mocked the defenseless woman in San Jose whom protesters pelted with bottles, eggs, and food on Thursday night.
Howe, who is a RedState contributing editor, has been leading the growingly embarrassing so-called #NeverTrump movement of moderate “movement conservative” political consultants, pundits, and bloggers upset over Trump’s victory in the Republican primary. When he received backlash over his mocking of the woman covered in egg yolks thanks to anti-Trump protesters, he aimed to draw a moral equivalence between a woman being pelted with bottles and eggs and a reporter who had her arm grabbed while chasing a presidential candidate.

There is nothing “moderate” about these people. They might want you to believe it because being moderate sounds so reasonable, but what they are is adherents to an extremist ideology which is a threat to our sovereignty and national security.

I really, honestly don’t understand their mindset.
I’ve never seen such unrestrained hatred for a candidate - and this from people ostensibly on OUR side. I’ve never seen them react this way to Obama, to Hillary, or to any other Democrat.
I have no idea why they’re acting so utterly deranged - as if Trump, by his mere existence, threatens them.

The coalition that forms the American left includes a fair number of groups that were solicited politically by appealing to their resentments. Those resentments have been rhetorically promoted and justified, for years, by pundits, politicians, academics, and 'activists' who have gained personally by this. Those types of reckless actions have significant consequences. The brutal ‘cultural revolution’ in China, the growth of the Nazis (and concomitant antisemitism) in Germany and elsewhere in Europe before WWII, and the class and racial hatred that are alive and well in the world we live in are all consequences of this behavior. The left has a lot to answer for.
