This took a long time to get to trial. Simcox acted as his own attorney.

I’d like to hear that there is independent (non-government-sourced) information confirming convictions like this.

I have no doubt the NSA could MAKE anyone guilty of having child porn on their PC. They can undoubtedly plant it there, call in the FBI and find it. And for a guy who is actively anti-government, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Thus, the independent verification regimen. Find me the person who can demonstrate the dude is guilty. Don’t just show me a hard drive.

Having read the article, it seems like a likely good conviction according to my own standards.

I concur. And if it is true that he did do this, he should be hanged; simply for the damage he did to the kid who will never be the same and the movement which he damaged to no end.

Meanwhile the guy who had sex with an unconscious student gets 6 months??
Simcox needs to be in the slammer but life seems pretty stiff.

I was wondering the same thing....isn’t it interesting how so many high-profile people are brought down with charges of child porn. It’s an instant life-changer even if charges don’t stick.

Did the NSA manufacture the child victim?

you and I may be on the outside on this one, but I think life is pretty stiff too. 20 years would have been a good sentence. but a real 20 years, and not five years after everything is deducted.

He’ll have grounds for appeal. Incompetence counsel.

That’s true, but what got him was the testimony of four different alleged victims. I don’t see him winning an appeal.

Easier to fight the evidence when one has a competent attorney.

Yup - Bingo.
It is terrifying that an person can be completely destroyed based upon one awful electronic or physical image placed onto their electronic device or property, without a shred of evidence that they solicited offending material in anyway.
All a bad actor needs to do is frame you is plant malware on your device, delivered via an email zip file, or mail you a thumb drive / plant it in your car, home or business, and you are then:
a criminal to be persecuted and destroyed, no matter if you really are truly guilty.

Deviant sex perverts producing, selling and consuming contraband filth have enabled the perfect way for the police state to quiet and disappear a political enemy.

Original source

http://snewsi.com/Arizona+Republic/tag/Chris+Simcox

While Mr. Simcox protested that “[e]ach of the state witnesses… had motive to implicate me,” the Republic reported that “Maricopa County prosecutor Yigael Cohen undercut this argument by noting that Simcox’s accusers had come forward separately.” What is more, “The mothers of two alleged victims didn’t know each other, and the young woman was first contacted by a police detective about the case, not vice versa.”

Superfilious facts. Conspiracies often have highly nebulous origins.

I would like to know the origin of the investigation. Though it say's a 5 and 6 year old are mentioned as the accusers, it was most certainly the parents who did the accusing.

It's likely he's guilty, but incomplete information is a warning sign.

So what yer sayin' is that if they come a knockin' and ya know yer not guilty, there's no sense in going with them in a vertical position, eh? d;^)

Lawyers could have tried try to impugn that the victims were coached, fed things by officials or something. He was a cooked goose going in.

He should have let a lawyer handle it. I think he was too vain for that. With four witnesses accusing him it still would have been tough for a good lawyer.
