The officer was shot 3 HOURS after the shooter started shooting. What were the officers doing during those three hours? They were hiding behind their patrol cars. Why didnt they attack as soon as possible? They knew people were bleeding out during the entire 3 hour period.

Were there no cops around? How did he shoot that many without an immediate cop response? I doubt any civilians were armed.

In this case the cops were in a quandry.
If they had an armed presence at the club - EVEN if an attack were rumored - the ‘crowd’ would have screamed bloody murder.
As to the armed civilians, that is almost self explanatory (YES, I realize some of ‘them’ carry and are as willing and able to use it as I am)

The biggest surprise is that it happened in FL, a pretty carry friendly state.

I can fire a lot of rounds in the time it takes for the phone call to go through and the ‘wheels start to turn’, then those called have go get to the scene AND if I don’t really care whether I die or not the damage can be devasting.
You may have one or two or a handful (of cops) fairly close but pretty sure the ROE are ‘active shooter - swat team’ the days are gone when the first arriving cops would burst into the danger zone - sure part of the reasoning being ‘our fault’ due to lawsuits etc if a cop hits the wrong person.
it will be used by the dims to call for a hearing on the vacant SCOTUS seat so the issue of "reasonable" gun control can be enacted despite the Second Amendment.
Where is DHS’ Jeh Johnson? Is he in Dearborn Michigan making sure the 100-per-day importations of Muslim terrorists from Syria are doing okay?
Word is that it was a ‘hostage situation’. That was the reason for the delay.
