This one isn’t substantial.
It’s not even necessarily a bad idea.
Tubman was a great Republican....the joke is on Obama!
What Jackson did to the Cherokee was obscene...and ironic as the Cherokee were the most advanced intellectually and the most Christianized of all the Native American tribes...they had a written language. They were accommodating and they could see the handwriting on the wall when it came to the coming growth of the US. They could have had a better deal then what Jackson did to them! Many Cherokee vote Republican to this day!
They can do worse than Tubman...such as a proposal to replace Washington with Malcom X!
He hated them so much he adopted one as his son. Piss off!
guilt....that doesn’t absolve him from what he did to the entire tribe!Judging from your reaction, it seems you have way too much invested in the memory of this guy. I’m not a fan any changes in the currency at all....just saying there could be worse than Tubman. As for you..take a cup of chill and go piss in your own pants!
Well, I can agree that we should not change any currency.
However, if our founders and early heroes like Jackson acted 100% accordingly to today’s liberal standards, we would not have a country anywhere near to today’s size. We might not even have a country. The views of Jackson’s time was also strongly influenced by what happened in 1813 at Fort Mims, Alabama where the Creek Indians slaughtered around 400 men, women, and children. This turned popular sentiment strongly in favor of Indian re-settlement over the next 20 years. Jackson led many battles against these Indians. I also say this as someone who has some Cherokee on both sides of my family.
