jaz - I checked my mail. Cottonball was taking the lead on trying to pull something together for us in E TN to celebrate HILLARY’S DEFEAT and new President Trump. I think she would be happy to add you to the list of those who are interested!
We escaped Mexifornia a year ago - and are loving it! Talk about paradise.
CA is passing more anti-gun laws and Tennessee is strengthening pro-gun laws! So glad to have escaped.
Wow, you have been busy!
I was thinking of getting together for one of the debates - except all are mid-week. but it would be fun. but the tough part is figuring out where to watch it - I’m very rural, so was going to plan it in Knoxville, 2 hours from me. I don’t know the area at all... We could do a Saturday after a debate in lieu of during.
if you have any ideas, let me know.
We left a year ago, too! What part of CA are you from? We came from the Palm Springs area. Don’t miss anything about CA, love CA.
Ooooooppppsss, I meant, love TN, not CA.
Definitely, add me to the list!
Imagine my surprise and delight when we first got to TN from CA and started seeing billboards . . .BILLBOARDS advertising upcoming gun shows!
I’ll put on my thinking cap re a Knoxville venue. We just moved from the town with the cooperative and convenient community center so that most likely is no longer possible. I don’t know Knoxville well, but will think...
Knoxville would be perfect. Are you thinking clubhouse or restaurant?
Thank you, MFM.
I am amazed you sold, bought, and moved so quickly. That is amazing - and exhausting.
And all in English!
My very first weekend here, at the Wal mart Supercenter in the meat department looking at chicken was a man with a glock on his hip.
It’s now a familiar sight to me, but I was so surprised I remember the details vividly!
Bakersfield. We had a cabin in the Sierras to make living there bearable. It’s funny, I don’t miss the big trees at all - the Appalachians are plenty beautiful with views I never got with the taller Sierra peaks. But the woods were full of liberals so that kind of ruined it anyway.
I miss the Reagan Library - we were regulars there. It was the only place in CA where we found like-minded people all the time, plus the hope and optimism Reagan had permeated the place.
But yes, I’ll never leave here - I love it too!
Ps. added you to the list. if there’s a day or month that’s better for you, let me know.
The debate schedule is: Sept 26 mon, Oct 9 sun, and October 19 wed.
That would create an IMMENSE improvement as far as livability in middle TN.
I think CottonBall and I were hoping to find a place where there’s a big screen TV and/or smart TV with internet access where we could all watch one of the big debates together, i.e., watch Trump shred Hillary to pieces. After that maybe an inaugural get-together.
Any place like that in Farragut? I’ll check to see if our development has a clubhouse. We’re so new there I don’t even know what amenities are available to us.
So if all of us put our heads together maybe we can score a perfect venue. I’m in Western NY now for a family reunion and will try to remember to ask my husband if he knows the clubhouse situation.
thanks to both of you for your help. I’m really not a planner/organizer - I just wanted to get to know local freepers. I was really hoping someone else would take over, LOL!
