The wise choice: Pick someone that can speak the conservative message with ease. And to win lots of “friends”; pick someone who will not be seen as the presumptive presidential candidate after a Trump Presidency. By giving hope to all the campaigners that ran against him and those that might want to throw their hat in the ring in 8 years, Trump could quickly solidify a lot of the party behind him.

My first reaction is that Mike pence may be a good choice — ( among a couple others too).

I think if Cruz had not proven himself to be such a jerk, he may have been ideal as VP...
Trump needs to put a younger man in that spot...

....why...please.
I can think of several sound reasons. Although he did cave to the homos, he has overall been a sound conservative with executive AND legislative experience. He was a radio show host, so he's not shy of media. His face is TV presentable. He is an all around conservative who will assist with bringing social conservatives fully on board. He doesn't have any significant scandals that I know of. He would be ready for the presidency should something happen to the president. His name juxtaposes nicely with TRUMP on a bumper sticker.

Why did he cave to the child molesters?

Why did he cave to the child molesters?
Because he is imperfect, no one had his back, he didn't see the attack coming, the folks in the legislature bailed on him, and he decided it was a battle he couldn't win.
We are not going to find a "perfect" VP. I believe Pence would be a "good" choice.

I wasn’t attacking you or him.
It’s just that people need to rebuff the “poor little victims” of the QUEER MAFIA, and call them out for the vile diseased filth they actually are.

"....why...please."Still better than Christie.
I don't know who he will choose -- but I think Trump made up his mind weeks ago and this is all an effort to gain publicity.

....why...please. Why not? Gotta look at the big picture vs. some of the pet peeves some have against certain candidates. Don't know if you have any against Pence but have seen several comments from folks that see a piece of the puzzle they don't like and ignore the other 499 pieces.

Newt might make a fine advisor or even Chief of Staff.
But he hurts the electabilty of the ticket. He has too much baggage, he doesn’t win a battleground state, and he doesn’t enhance a demographic.
We MUST win this election first. THEN we can fill the slots.
So, Newt would be a bad choice for VP. Very bad.

NEWT is best for the job....... I like Newt too - the question is, who will help broaden the support base while not conflicting in any major ways with their President....right now we have one choice for President and will have to assume he is best for the job and will be making the calls. We need a person who would be at least suitable but who will garner votes to help get the main guy in.
I rally don't know the differences in which of the possibles would affect voters and/or turnout, but I know that if I asked for all my favorites I might become part of the perennial circular firing squad that helped give us 8 years of Obama - and the lousy choices we had while he was running.

I agree. Newt knows Washington and can speed up Trumps agenda. And , like Revolutionary said he will not be a contender after Trump leaves office.

He’s a better choice than Christie or Gingrich, as far as helping him win.

We're not going to get a perfect VP. Trump needs to choose someone he can trust 100%, will let Trump set the agenda, can excel in the campaign and can reassure voters. Fortunately, Kasick, Ryan, Cruz and a few others have been much too hostile to be chosen.
From the little we've seen, Pence might be a really good fit as VP.
