With insurers struggling to make money and access to plans severely limited, top South Carolina health officials warn the Obamacare health insurance marketplace is on the verge of collapse.
Obamacare was supposed to create a competitive platform for customers to shop for coverage. But in most South Carolina counties, HealthCare.gov more closely resembles a monopoly dominated by the largest private health insurance company in the state - BlueCross BlueShield.
Without reform, health officials say the entire system is in jeopardy.
"The way it's going right now, it's probably going to implode in the next year or two," said Dr. Pat Cawley, CEO of Medical University Hospital, during an MUSC Board of Trustees meeting last week.

Once you accept the fact that providing affordable healthcare was only a slogan and that the primary functions of Obamacare are wealth redistribution and expansion of government control it begins to make sense.
The Supreme Court made that clear: This is a tax, nothing else. It was never designed to provide real health CARE; it provides health INSURANCE that those covered often can’t afford to use.
Yes, Roberts deserves to die a slow lingering death of some disease after health care is denied after his kids are stripped from him. He sold out his country for personal gain and, one day, his adopted children may tell all.
This whole mess needs reorganization. I have just found out, after paying into Medicare for 50 years, that my combined Medicare part A and part B, supplemental insurance and part D to cover my pharmaceutical needs, will come to more than we are paying out for my part of our medical insurance through my husband’s employer. THIS HAS TO STOP! We have paid into Medicare for decades and Obama raided the Medicare pot to prop up Obamacare. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WERE PROMISED! Kill the beast and get us back to medical that we can actually afford!

Anyone expected the GOVT to pass illegal mandates/laws, operate outside of their Constitutional bounds and STILL ‘keep their promises’?? Even the millennials aren’t that naive.

There IS already this scenario...the ‘medical care’ paid by the taxpayer (see Govt\employees), then the 2nd tier (veterans/MediXYZ), then the ‘poor’ (subsidized) and finally, the care that can be obtained by those paying their own way (if the taxes/etc. don’t kick ‘em into a ‘preferred’ group). Guess which is the *only* level that cares about cost, quality and customer service.

Yes the unmentioned “value” of the Death Panels is the bonus to Soc Sec and Medicare financials by cutting the lifespan.
