That’s all well and good, but I’m curious why 22LR seems to be the toughest of all to get. If the government wanted to force a shortage on something, it seems they would buy up all the .223, 9mm, and 40mm stuff. I’m still scratching my head over why the big shortage of 22LR.

You would need a stupid firearm license. I don’t know about American customs though.

No profit on 22’s as compared to larger calibers

After Jan 1, all ammo has to be bought/sold thru an FFL, all out of state or online orders must be shipped to a dealer. All buyers must pass a background check and be registered in a state database.

“...FTF or FTE ...”

Indeed - the Walther P22 is a fussy, snobby little Eurotwit. The ONLY thing it runs well is mini-mag. And it always works with that stuff.

I have an old Ruger MKI that eats anything I put in the mag, though.

They’re good too! When it works, use it!!!

I have a few boxes of Aquila subsonic stuff, too. It’s quiet, and “usually” works.

"I had .22 shells stockpiled but we have shot over 2000 rabbits this year and haven’t been able to easily restock. We look at Walmart but they never have any."

Just go to ammoseek.com and let your fingers do the ordering. It is a web site that lists the prices of ammo from different online sellers. It updates the links every couple of minutes, so it is very current. Since shipping is a factor in cost, buying in large lots is the best way.

I think it was a Thursday.

But I stopped by today, and they had Stingers. I was amazed.

I like Federal a lot.

I have found Federal Champion bulk to be the best of the bulk stuff. Excellent ammmo for the price.

Thats about 5.4 cents U.S. at the current exchange rate. Decent.

I checked. I saw the mini-mags and standard velocity on a Friday morning.

I recently found CCI .22 Shorts... good thing my 60’s vintage stash of J.C. Higgins was getting low.

I recently fired 22 rounds of Standard Velocity Long Rife. It was Remington, circa 1950-55. It shot like it was brand new.

.38 wadcutter rounds (reloaded, cast your own bullets) are only a bit more than .22 power, very accurate, lots of great loads developed for superb accuracy. Cost is a bit lower than .22 now (depends on the price of primers), but mild, accurate, great shooting stuff. Out of a rifle, quieter than .22 hi vel.

It actually was an intelligent post. it was in answer to a “why bother, what can you do with a 22 anyway?” post.

Why don't you two go have a duel with .22's.

Boy, I sound like a MSM reporter there! I meant .40 not 40mm. DOH!

...then again, 40mm sounds pretty sweet!
