A Pennsylvania Department of Corrections K9 died after being left inside a hot car for more than two hours, officials confirmed.
Totti, a 2-year-old yellow lab that worked with the department’s Drug Interdictions Unit, was left in the squad car during training exercises at the Rockview State Prison by his handler, Sgt. Chad Holland....
Pennsylvania prison officials have opened an internal investigation into Totti’s death.
As the investigation continues, Holland remains employed by the department and has not been reprimanded.

Arrested for murdering a govt agent/officer.
Charge him with animal cruelty and then stuff him into the hot car until his trial comes up.
Way too many incidents lately of police leaving their K-9s in hot cars, resulting in the poor dogs’ deaths. What the heck is WRONG with these morons? Do you trust these bozos with a gun? I feel so bad that the faithful dogs had to die such an agonizing death at the hands of these careless idiots.
HOW, in this day and age, can people STILL do this? You can’t go into a local store or office building or public place without seeing posters reminding you of such!

Poor Totti. Those dogs give so much. All it takes from us is a little careful handling and showing them some love once in a while. Many dogs, such as Border Collies, seem born to do certain jobs, and are not fully happy until they do these jobs.
Every new dog handler should be locked in a hot car for an hour on the first day of training, then they won’t forget
So... let me get this straight. Your a highly trained handler who knows every aspect of your dog, and yet, you leave him in a HOT CAR... really? really?
They don’t need a committee or a 6 month investigation, you fire the SOB.
Why would a prison need to search for drugs, unless the staff was bringing the contraband in?

I agree completely. Maybe it’s time to end the K-9 program. These brave, faithful dogs put themselves on the line & what thanks do they get in return? Neglect, abuse & death.
This POS should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
What rank was the dog? Charge him with a hate crime against the police.
The fact that they have to search prisons for drugs underlines the impossibility of EVER winning the drug war.
It also points up that drug warriors are enemies of the republic.
