Man Shoots at 'Pokemon Go' Players Outside House
AP via liveleak ^ | 7/17/16 | AP

Authorities say a Florida man fired shots at two late-night "Pokemon Go" players in a car outside his house but no one was injured.

The homeowner who shot at the teens has a different account of what happened early Saturday. When interviewed by deputies, the homeowner said he was woken up by a loud noise outside of his home and spotted a white car with its brake lights on in the street outside his house. That's when he grabbed his handgun and went outside. He recalled hearing someone say something to the effect of "did you get anything?" Then he said he stepped in front of the car and said not to move.

The car, he said, accelerated toward him. He fled from the street and shot at the car several times as it sped off.

AP story on several different sites.

Lots of links about it here.

My kids and I were walking around downtown yesterday and there were people everywhere walking like zombies playing this game. Grown men. Adults.

It's just a matter of time before someone dies. The lawsuits should be entertaining.

Oh yeah, I also read about a halfway house that rehabs sex offenders (or tries to) in Calif. is a stop on this game. A staff member said "These are sex offenders, we can't have little kids coming around here".

Sounds like a ‘child-ized’ version of Geo-Caching. My thoughts are that it would be for Japanese people OR intended to get kids interested in it. If pedophiles are as clever as some of them are, they’ve probably already picked up on that. Just my thoughts and opinion.

Someone steps in front of my car and points a gun at me. They’re dead.

Bullet holes in the rear of the car? Doesn’t look good for the shooter.

We were in Washington DC yesterday. We saw a young man riding his bike through DC traffic, no hands glued to his phone, not a care in the world.

Hard time selling that as self-defense or defense of property.

Now Pokeman is the ‘go to’ cover story for house burglars.

Yeah, I’m 74 and had to try it. I was an avid geocacher at one time. This game is going to cause some real problems, with the geocache, you made sure it wasn’t in private or restricted property. This thing seems to have scattered the goals all over the place. It is a lot of fun, but with Pokemons randomly located, even in streets, this is not nearly as safe as Geocaching. As much fun as it is, it is going to cause problems. Too bad.

The country is in the midst of a fad. I hate fads. I never follow the crowd.

Muzzards are killing normal people. Marxists are trying to cause the breakdown of the civil order. Dickchoppers are allowed to go in ladies’ bathrooms.

Millions of Americans have temporarily pulled their heads out of their a$$es and have their faces buried in their smartphones, chasing imaginary animals.

Gonna be a fun Summer.

This “game” provides perfect cover for terrorists and others who want to case out areas - let it go long enough and it will desensitize folks against strangers loitering and acting strange...

Astute prediction.

Programmers Gone Wild, again, with zero consideration for outcomes and consequences. Yuppies and millenials in high tech, with only the gleam of the success of their latest soft toys in their eyes, absent any call for social responsibility.
