The FACT is that it DID matter as to who did it and why...and that couldn’t be addressed until people understood that it, IN FACT, did happen...instead of pretending it couldn’t possibly have happened.

As it turns out, it looks like it was not sabotage.

But that FACT remains, that many many many people here were wrong when they said that Melania and Michelle just happened to use the same 23 word structure by coincidence.

That it was lifted from a Michelle Obama speech in which the latter lifted a phrase from Alinsky seems to be too convenient to be accidental. And suddenly all eyes are back on Trump for an incident which has no real downside.

I am one of those that could not entertain the thought that Trump would intentionally hurt Melania in a public way- but I must concede that the way this played out looks like it is at least a possibility that Trump was rickrolling everyone. Of course, she would have had to approve of the play.

The excuse from the trusted speechwriter was lame.

It could have been her own idea... she’s more than smart enough to think it up herself.

Live by the web die by the web. Did they mention the penalty for this theft?

Did they say if I tell you my parents taught me to respect others, that is an “idea” I stole from someone?

Did they say a phrase in a public speech is an idea which cannot be repeated?

You cannot make up crime where one does not exist.

The whole issue is silly.

Melania and Donald are both class acts and are what this country desperately needs, all of us here know that, but the fact is we need the millions of less involved low-info voters (easily duped by the MSM) to have the numbers to win in November, and this incident has given the globalist MSM ammunition against Trump— and I still strongly think it was sabotage, not by Mciver but by someone else in the speechwriting group, which is probably large. The Rick Astley song reference is the give-away,

The mocking by song lyric gimmick isn’t something Mciver or Melania would’ve done, it’s an act of public humiliation by someone else in the group of people that write the speeches, and Trump and his top aides absolutely need to investigate this further and find out who the mole and traitor is.

I knew some staffers who worked with Jim DeMint’s campaign when he was in the Senate, and they always pointed out how even short, minor speeches usually had a big group of staffers, speechwriters and drafters to check each part of the speech and then the full speech itself for unintentional copied portions (which takes less than a minute these days with all the plagiarism check software). I doubt it was Mciver, but someone else in that speechwriting group clearly sabotaged it, the Rick Astley copying is what proves that. I can understand how Moochelle’s words got unintentionally copied in, people got rushed and didn’t run the normal checks, DeMint’s people said it happens and everyone makes a mistake like that sometimes.

But not the Rick Astley song lyrics insertion that was obviously done to make Melania look like a fool and mock Trump at same time, that wasn’t just a copying error or sloppy mistake. That was clearly intentional by someone in that group putting the speech together, probably slipped in with the knowledge that Mciver herself was too busy or rushed to catch it, but that she would take the fall once the speech went public. I’ve seen people on the other blogs trying to sound relieved and convince themselves it wasn’t sabotage, but that’s just wishful thinking, nobody can explain how the mocking Rick Astley reference was put in there and it’s clear it didn’t come from Melania or Mciver herself.

I’m not trying to over-play this, I agree with everyone else here that this is trivial issue in the big scheme of things and there are much more important things to be dealing with. But most US voters aren’t on FR, to win in November we need to win over millions of other voters who are independent or even conservative Democrats. A lot of them are low-info voters, they’re not Internet-experienced and they uncritically drink up a lot of the junk the MSM puts out. Some of my own co-workers and employees are like this, most Republican or independent conservative, but they go along with the media stories and are shaking their heads at the Trump campaign— this sabotage clearly gave the media a lot of ammunition to use against Trump and take attention away from the powerful speeches about Benghazi and the conservative movement at the convention.

The reality is, Trump and his trusted insiders have to be ruthless now in smoking out the mole within that speechwriting group and making their name public, finding out if anything was sent outside of the group for suggestions and figuring out who the saboteur was. There’s no way Mciver or Melania put in that mocking Rick Astley reference, that’s the sign of the saboteur. I’m not exaggerating when I say the survival of this country depends on Trump winning in November, he needs every vote due to the demographic disadvantage and he can not win while a backstabber (probably some GOPe jerk) is somewhere within his camp.

Every single month Obama and the Democrats are importing hundreds of thousands of new Democrat voters and adding them to their rolls thanks to all their mass immigration (both legal and illegal), assisted as we all know by the GOPe RINO traitors and neocons plus scumbag plutocrats like Chamber of Commerce, Mark Zuckerberg, Sheldon Adelson and Bill Gates. Obama right now is signing up millions of the Muslims and quietly amnestied illegals he and his predecessors have already imported into the country— and then he’s bringing in entire villages of new Muslim refugees and migrants every week from Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, Yemen and Pakistan and rushing them through (in addition to almost 200 a day from Syria alone, and only Muslims from Syria in that refugee “surge” he keeps gloating about), Hillary has openly said she’ll speed the process up even more to import even more millions of Democrat voters. They’re very aggressively creating a corrupt, one-party banana republic state with them as elites through sheer weight of demographics, just like Venezuela. Then using our tax dollars and Obamacare premiums wrung out of us to pay for their welfare and affirmative action programs and court fees (this is why business lawsuits and divorces bankrupt so many Americans, this is where the “fees” go) that work even further against us.If Hillary wins it’s lights-out for America, and as people are saying, a civil war is likely inevitable from there. So everything depends on Trump winning. He can’t afford any mistakes, he certainly can’t afford a mole within his group, which he clearly has right now. Some house-cleaning is needed.

What are some good things Melania said in her speech? It was a long speech.

“The excuse from the trusted speechwriter was lame.”

Yeah like I said, it’s the mocking thru the Rick Astley song that shows there’s more to it. Not only was the excuse lame, but it totally ignored any explanation for how that bit of pranking got in there. It was deliberately trying to make Melania out to be a bool and mocked as the video is replayed. Probably not Mciver’s fault, but someone else in that speechwriter group is basically working as a mole, slipped this into the final draft while Mciver and Melania were probably just too busy preparing. I’ll say it again, this saboteur has to be found and publicly outed.
