It is a fact, sure.

So the question is, what is the meaning of this fact?

Could it have been, in fact, a deliberate trolling of the media - something we have seen from Trump repeatedly to date?

That has been the whole gist of this..while so many refused to admit it was lifted instead of addressing the real question about what does it mean that it was lifted.

Many were concerned it was sabotage..especially with that rickroll. Some also thought it was some kind of deliberate trolling by Trump.

We now know it likely wasn’t sabotage which was my concern .

So what else do you want done about it? It was generic pablum that has been admitted to. Trump decided it was innocent and didn’t want to fire a long time employee.

Would you like a congressional investigation over a first lady speech segment? A do over primary? Someone arrested?

Seriously, move on. I called it plagiarism too but its a tiny drop in the ocean

“The service I have used is Plagiarisma.net.”

Did you run tour tag line through it? :-)

Trump turns a negative into a huge positive. He protects his people.

Yes, this is also how he handled the Michelle Fields situation, with then Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski. Total class.

Of course, the media got the desired effect from this nothing-burger, focus away from the failings of Obama and Clinton. My have worked for 24-48 hours. You can run Crooked Hillary, but you can't hide. We're more motivated than ever.

Go Trump Pence 2016!!

Nothing. People keep addressing me claiming it wasn’t stolen. It was. It was very OBVIOUS that it was lifted. I am still dismayed that so many people could not objectively look at the facts.

My concern was that it was sabotage. It looks like it wasn’t. Maybe those that thought it was deliberate trolling by Trump were right..especially after this lame excuse by the speechwriter.

We will never know.

And there it is. However, I still question if there was a mole that knew about this and allowed it to go on to hurt Melania. I say this because the guy who “exposed” this is a laid of journalist who is suddenly a media darling. He claims that he recognized a random phrase in the speech and recited the line in the speech while she was reading, realizing it came from Michelle Obama’s speech in 2008 (wrote 2012 initially and then corrected). Who remembers an obscure line like the one he remembered? He says he loved Michelle’s 2008 speech so much that he wrote part of it down. And what? Looked over it from time to time. I don’t know. I don’t remember what I took notes on in 2008. It wasn’t an ocean levels will go down type line in my opinion.

For the record, I am not accusing this woman of being a mole. I don’t know. Maybe that guy just remembered something very obscure, but I still wonder whether or not someone tipped him off.

The fact that Trump refused to fire her makes Trump look good in my opinion. This is someone that he knows, not a random speech writer, and he believes this is a good person who made a mistake. He stood by Corey as well when Corey was falsely accused. Most campaigns would throw the person under the bus and fire them. I think this speaks to his character and adds to the theme from the convention of Trump’s loyalty, kindness, and belief in his employees. He hires people (not saying this woman in particular) who don’t always have the biggest name degrees but have life experience, and he lets them work their way up. This compassion may help with voters.

Trump said on Twitter that, “Good news is Melania’s speech got more publicity than any in the history of politics especially if you believe that all press is good press!”

There are several programs that look for plagiarism. It is possible that media types were ready to go looking for something with programs loaded for input. However, if you don’t have the speech before hand you are going to have to type it in pretty fast . I don’t know the amount of time that went by but it is doable.

“If Melania read the passages to her speechwriter, then how can Melania credibly claim that she did not know the passages came from Moochelle’s speech?”

Oh come on. Melania would expect the phrases to be changed somewhat. She just wanted the same sentiment that Michelle expressed. I hear a speech, remember that I liked it & want to express something similar. But I can guarantee I’ll forget exactly how it was said in the first place without looking at a transcript on the original.

The very definition of a “concern-troll” is to aid and abet the Rinos and Dems. The end goal is obvious.

If she is ghost writer, perhaps she was not the best pick.

Her statement makes absolutely no sense.

Manafort should have checked. Big speech, probably most important of Convention. Buck stops with him.

They keep reporting that she said she wrote the speech. But what she said is that she wrote the speech WITH A LITTLE HELP. It sounds like it was mostly what she wanted to say, so she did feel it was mainly her work.

I don’t know how many times my husband & I have argued about who came up with an idea. Neither are trying to take credit for something we didn’t do, but when you are collaborating, it is easy to forget who said what.

Evidently, Melania had already been given a speech by professional speechwriters, but she didn’t like it and went to this woman who was obviously a friend if she helped write Donald’s books. Melania wanted to say things she was comfortable with. Someone should have run the speech through a software speech checker program.

So what do you want done to Melania? Trump to divorce her? Her husband to step down as nominee?

Compare her to the other First Lady - Bill Clinton

The words in the order they were in may be said to be unique, but the sentiments are commonplace. Among certain people.

At least Melania didn’t use Michelle’s “For the first time in my life I am proud of my country” quote.

Geez who cares. It wasn’t exactly the Gettysburg Address anyway. What is it you want? A public flogging at high noon?

She's not, but that shouldn't matter.

All things considered, the flap over this fills the space that the protesters would have filled and the never trumpers. All the air has been on Melania's speech and when that is distilled, there really is nothing there which is hurtful to Trump.

That and the protesters and never trumpers just haven't been newsworthy do date. That is a good thing.
