Donald Trump is a unique threat to American democracy (WaPo Barf Alert)
Washington Compost ^ | July 22, 2016 | WaPo Editorial Board

Posted on 07/23/2016 5:08:50 PM PDT by Pinkbell

DONALD J. TRUMP, until now a Republican problem, this week became a challenge the nation must confront and overcome. The real estate tycoon is uniquely unqualified to serve as president, in experience and temperament. He is mounting a campaign of snarl and sneer, not substance. To the extent he has views, they are wrong in their diagnosis of America’s problems and dangerous in their proposed solutions. Mr. Trump’s politics of denigration and division could strain the bonds that have held a diverse nation together. His contempt for constitutional norms might reveal the nation’s two-century-old experiment in checks and balances to be more fragile than we knew.

Any one of these characteristics would be disqualifying; together, they make Mr. Trump a peril. We recognize that this is not the usual moment to make such a statement. In an ordinary election year, we would acknowledge the Republican nominee, move on to the Democratic convention and spend the following months, like other voters, evaluating the candidates’ performance in debates, on the stump and in position papers. This year we will follow the campaign as always, offering honest views on all the candidates. But we cannot salute the Republican nominee or pretend that we might endorse him this fall. A Trump presidency would be dangerous for the nation and the world.

Why are we so sure? Start with experience. It has been 64 years since a major party nominated anyone for president who did not have electoral experience. That experiment turned out pretty well — but Mr. Trump, to put it mildly, is no Dwight David Eisenhower.

I don’t have an account there. The comments section is very liberal, and it would an onslaught of attack. I’ll let it stand here. Someone from the WaPo may see this. Otherwise, my hope is that maybe an undecided voter stumbles on FR and sees it or a liberal accidentally ends up here.

Agreed. The Washington Post should not even have phone calls returned from the Trump Campaign, nor from the Trump Administration after January 20, 2017.

“Let them twist slowly in the wind”, as John Ehrlichman said.

"They're going to REALLY be pissed when they find out their reporters just might be tossed from any White House coverage at all."

I wish Trump would call a news conference in the WH press room on the first morning he is President.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you are in possession of a green badge allowing you entry to the White House. That badge is government property. You will now be escorted out the front gate where you will turn that badge over to the guards. After a few weeks we may or may not reissue badges to current holders.

Thank you and good day." Trump then exits.

I can dream, can't I?

As I do with every post regarding the Washington Post, I want to remind everyone that EVERY time you buy something from Amazon, you’re putting money in Jeff Bezos’ pocket and funding his WaPo assault against Donald Trump and US the American people.

Thanks! Yeah, it took me a while. I just got so angry as I read it when I saw things that were just untrue. I saw they criticized Trump and dictators, and I realized forgot to link about Obama’s history with dictators like this:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikegonzalez3/2016/03/25/obamas-apology-tour-and-latin-american-dictators/#7ad57c8b3b07

Or this:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/richardminiter/2014/08/05/obamas-double-standards-for-dictators/#2379576d5c8f

Or this that got through the WaPo:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2013/03/06/obamas-atrocious-statement-on-tyrant-chavezs-death/

I have seen on reddit that he has 515 businesses and has had 11 failures.

I was aware of the Stern interview. I didn’t know if he changed course prior to Iraq after that interview or not. He claims he was against it very early on. It will be interesting because I am sure the Democrats will use it like the WaPo did. The journalists who cover Trump are always using it.

To say he could wage the deficit $10 trillion is unbelievable to me. I can’t see how he could be worse at raising the deficit than Obama.

Trump did a lot of interviews with them early on, and that didn’t help them like him any. No more interviews with them.

I think your dreams could be closer to reality than you think. Trump would NEVER tolerate having someone working in the PR department of one of his properties who was unable to present facts and information truthfully and honestly, and for that reason I can easily believe that he will bounce out all of the libtard propagandists who are always trying to play ‘gotcha’ with whoever the Press Secretary happens to be.

There’s going to be a new Sheriff in town and the criminals with word processors in the media aren’t going to like it.

So in other words, the WaCompost is basically just preaching to the choir with the article-people who would never vote for trump regardless?

The Washington Post comments section is usually very liberal, but I do see some people hitting back, but they are getting nasty remarks by liberals. No point in dealing with it. I could present all these refutations, and it would make zero difference to the left. You are right, though, that by being so liberal they may drive away many of very people they are trying to reach. Thus, they are in effect, preaching to the choir. Maybe they will reach some independents, but the conservatives who are replying see it for the propaganda it is.

Liberals are hilarious.

The Washington Post has been bested by Trump before.

They can’t stand it that they can’t bring him.

How considerate of them to continue to perpetrate character assassination on their editorial page of the candidate of a major political party.

In November, the voters should rebuke the Washington Post and elect Donald J. Trump our next President.
