People were pissed - after all this was Arkansas, not suburban Chicago.
Bill Clinton lost his re-election 2 years later - because of her (2 year terms for governor, at the time, in Arkansas).
Hillary changed her name again to “Hillary Clinton” after the loss (must have been painful).

I’m curious about the initial “favorable” spike on the graph in the 91-93 era.
It’s my recollection that during the ‘92 campaign, after her cracks about “I’m not going to stay home and bake cookies” and “Two for the price of one” she was bound and gagged and thrown into the basement of the AR governor’s mansion, only let out several months later to do shopping-mall openings and the like.
