The press shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for Hillary Clinton to take any questions

Not any time soon. If you were waiting for Hillary Clinton to hold a press conference (instead of one of her scripted campaign appearances with human stage props) and answer the burning questions the public surely has, you may be waiting a while. She hasn’t held a single press conference this year and there are apparently no plans to do so in the immediate future. (WaPo)

When is Hillary Clinton going to hold that long-awaited news conference — the first of 2016? Whenever she feels like it.

This has always been true, of course. The media can’t force her into one. But the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign hasn’t been quite so blunt about it.

Until now.

“We’ll have a press conference when we want to have a press conference,” Clinton pollster Joel Benenson said on ABC News on Thursday evening.

Okay then. This is the Clinton campaign flaunting its control, reminding the media who calls the shots.

Over in Turkey, President Erdogan solves his public image issues by simply locking up the press and shutting down news outlets. Hillary Clinton can’t quite get away with that, but she can refuse to talk to them. The end result isn’t exactly the same since the reporters are free to speculate why she’s so shy about answering questions, but it’s not all that different either. Still, this condition can’t last forever.

The one thing even Clinton can’t escape is the debates, and there will be questions asked there. Many, many questions. And when that happens it’s going to be a hot time in the old town for sure.

She hates and fears unscripted appearances. If and when she eventually does have a press conference, she will be given all the questions in advance. The media will toss her a few beach balls.

They won’t (hold their breath) or even criticize her. No sweat.

At the debates, Trump will be asking the questions.

I said on FR back in !2/15 that Hillary will hide thru the entire election process. She will find a way out of the debates. She said nothing of any substance last night. She looked horrible. Had to be walked to the entrance to the stage. Cameras mistakenly caught some of it. She couldn’t keep her tone down and began to screech louder and louder the entire time. Still saying NOTHING. She didn’t convince anyone but the slime that are already voting for her. She has not mentioned anything about the 8 years of Obama. Her screed starts with Bush.
What could she say at a press conference that would not be involved in one of her scandals. She was so boring her own husband fell asleep. The Dems are counting on the Media to spin everything and take out Trump. They are trying but the fake polls are not working.

She will do one soon, all pre approved questions submitted by the media

Her husband set the tone; for obvious reasons he couldn’t face an honest impartial media. The Dems since then have seized total control of the media; otherwise Clinton’s hiding from them would be a story unto itself...

Depends on who the moderators are. If the moderators can control the direction and tone of the debates she’ll make it through unscathed.

It doesn't matter. Trump will be in control. He will be the alpha male no matter who the moderator is. He will play the moderator just like he plays the media in other venues. If he gets in a dustup with the moderator, Trump will look like the winner and the moderator will look like a chump. And Hillary will be wagging her finger and losing 50,000 votes per wag.

Not to worry. The MSM will clear all its questions with the Hillary campaign.

Trump is not like the previous weak sisters Republicans had running before.

Trump has been practicing for the debates since he announced - almost every live interview has gotcha questions. He is used to them.

Hillary on the other hand has never really faced hostile questions. Will she rise to the occasion or fold like a $2 card table?

Looking forward to the first debate to see the answer.

Do you really believe there will be more than one?

“Hillary on the other hand has never really faced hostile questions. Will she rise to the occasion or fold like a $2 card table?”

Neither. Bill’s had decades to teach her how to pull off the crocodile tears, so she’ll cry at the first sign of any real questioning, playing the “Rick Lazio” card without reservation.

I’m waiting for the Trump rally where he throws away the script and simply spends an hour (or two) reminding people of every Clinton scandal, one-by-one.

It would be devastating.

It wouldn’t bother me if the farcical “debates” were deposited in the proverbial dustbin. But if there are any debates at all, I think Trump will own the stage and make Hillary look like a mess.
