Incirclik is not a US base. It’s a Turkish base being used by US forces by permission.

Obama is wrestling with weighty issues —

Should USAF assets (including nukes) be under the control of the US government? Or should we just give all that stuff to the crazy Muslims who want to establish a Caliphate?

I’m sure his advisors like Valerie Jarrett will steer him in the right direction.

Regardless, the seeming fact that is apparent is that this action with respect to Incirlik US forces being cut off has been ignored by US media for weeks now.

It makes no difference what ‘kind’ of base it is. Our soldiers and airmen are there.

I can’t believe it either -
Our air men are hostages, caught in a stand-off to defend our air and ordinance assets.
There hasn’t been any substantive news update on this situation since a US General went to Turkey a week ago or so to smooth things over.

Our media is a traitorous useless lot.

I’ve seen Freepers say “How do we really know that Incirlik is cut off?? You don’t hear it talked about on TV — maybe this is all just some conspiracy theory!”

Boggles the mind,

And I have no doubt they are free to leave at any time.

The events in Turkey are on a scale, in terms of the fate of Europe, with Mohacs and the gates of Vienna.

The idea that we (the US) have a future that involves basing forces in Turkey is ridiculous.

Yep.
Not everyone knows that, either, but it is true.

Hard to believe for some folks here but Turkey is one of our better friends over there, as is the KSA. Since the latter has another 200 years (so say the geologists) of petroleum and natural gas, the USA will probably still consider them as a "friendly" nation.

Boggles the mind,

Since the world's media control everything we know about the world, we ONLY know what those particular media WANT us to know.
THAT boggles my mind.

Even eye witnesses over there are shown what said country WANTS them to see.

With “friends” like those, who needs enemies?

I understand the role of efficacy vs sacrifice there, it is debatable, certainly. Yes, they (the guardians) can leave any time they want. Can the things they have stored there be said the same of? I think not.

And of course, the US would be completely stupid to believe that ANY country with an appreciable amount of Muslims in it serves our country’s purpose in locating weapons of import in that area.

I’m a ‘nuke them orbit kind of guy’. Don’t ever trust a Muslim for any reason. With Obama at the helm, we are near assured some Muslim fanatical group will get their hands on a US nuke.

Get the hell out of Turkey, remove from NATO, and no funds on any kind to that hell hole.

Trump for President.

How does Trump have anything to do with it?

I’ll bet the farm if Trump was President right now it would never have happened, or, he’d be over their kicking ass to free our guys and equipment.

Oh no, this is NOT Trumps fault, it falls squarely on the shoulders of Obama and Hillary.

Now that Erdogan is purging Turkey of its remaining secular elements

The purge seems to have been concentrated on the Gulenists who are Islamic.

The purge is for anybody who stands in Erdogan’s way. Gulen is just a convenient excuse.

I would evacuate Incirclik with all moveable assets as soon as possible, before we can't.

This could be an excuse for Mr. Nobel Peace Prize to declare war and play the martial law card. It would further push Hell-ary’s “war” experience over Trump’s.

Yes, I'm sure that's right.

The price will be higher a month from now. Better get on bowing.
