A former CIA case officer who has served as top policy aide to House Republicans is launching an independent campaign for the presidency on Monday with the backing of veteran GOP strategists and donors determined to block Donald Trump of getting anywhere near the White House.
Feeding off mounting discontent within GOP ranks over Trump, Evan McMullin — who is resigning today as chief policy director for the House Republican Conference — will announce his campaign with an open “Letter to America” aimed at rallying independents and conservatives to his cause.
“It’s never too late to do the right thing, and America deserves much better than either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton can offer us,” McMullin , 40, said in his announcement statement. “I humbly offer myself as a leader who can give millions of disaffected Americans a conservative choice for president.”
Although the candidacy of a political unknown with no experience in electoral politics seems improbable at best, strategists working with Better for America, a group that has been dedicated to stopping Trump, told Yahoo News that they believed the McMullin campaign has a genuine chance to catch on. The group claimed that he even has a plausible path to victory through a deadlocked race that ultimately goes to the House of Representatives to resolve if neither Trump nor Clinton gets the required 270 electoral votes.

All it takes is 1-2 unfaithful electors in the Electoral College in a close electoral race to throw it to the House, which is allowed to consider the top three. If that happens, the Senate is only allowed to consider the top two. I don’t know if the Vice-President gets a vote in case of a tie in the Senate.
And like Bret Stephens he will be explaining to the GOPe cuck base the concept of “White Privilege.”
Isn’t it interesting that the Republicans (#Never Trumpers), just want to give the election to Hilary!

And just like with David French, this guys “campaign” will quickly disappear in a day or two, it takes money and organization to get enough petitions to get on state ballots, he has neither (most of which have already passed their deadlines).

Okay, so now we have a big government Libertarisn (Johnson), a Greeny and a spook that no one’s ever heard of.
Where’s his money coming from? Which states will he petition for the ballot? This is laughable. If it were April, they might be able to pull a fake centrist Anderson type run. This will not even pull Eugene McCarthy 1976 numbers (<1%).
