Media justify anti-Trump bias, claim he's too 'dangerous' for normal rules
Fox News ^ | August 09, 2016 | Howard Kurtz

The media’s legions of Trump-bashers are finally acknowledging the obvious.

And trying their best to justify it.

But there’s one problem: Tilting against one candidate in a presidential election can’t be justified.

This is not a defense of Donald Trump, who has been at war with much of the press since he got in the race. Too many people think if you criticize the way the billionaire is being covered, you are somehow backing Trump.

And it’s not about the commentators, on the right as well as the left, who are savaging Trump, since they are paid for their opinions.

This is about the mainstream media’s reporters, editors and producers, whose credo is supposed to be fairness.

And now some of them are flat-out making the case for unfairness—an unprecedented approach for an unprecedented campaign.

The Mainstream Media has always been biased towards Democrats in coverage, but never has been more flagrant than it is now. They are now open cheerleaders for Hillary Clinton.

The media has been too dangerous for "normal rules" for a long time...

Pat Caddell called it.

Pat Caddell slams the media: They have become an "enemy of the people" Sept. 29, 2012(video 26:00)

Liberal media bias has long been an open secret. But now it’s so bad that even a liberal mainstream newspaper notes that, in an effort to destroy Donald Trump, the media have jumped the shark.

Dear infuriated Freepers:

Here is how they operate. It’s quite simple and explains everything they say and do. It hangs on their office walls.

Irving Janis was a Psych professor at Yale (ring a bell). He researched groupthink and developed eight groupthink behaviors. I recast them a little below as commandments of the progressive left.

check out IV

I Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II Thou shall not allow any member to question the group’s inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

VIII Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions

The Ministry of Propaganda will go all out totake down Trump.
He threatens 30 years of bipartisan policy of flooding the country with fraudulently documented foreigners.
The Cheap Labor Express does not intend to allow the citizens to elect anyone President who would shut them down.

So, they’re saying the same things they said about Bush, Romney, McCain, Dole, Bush, and Reagan, but this time they really really mean it?

I only see people killed that ran afoul of the Clintons.

Two in the past few days.

Don’t see anyone associated with Trump murdered.

Exactly! Trump’s the one in danger, not Hillary.

He’s the one running against globalist big gov’t, and they are not nice people.

(We Second Amendment people are nice people.)

It’s the MSM that’s dangerous. Our enemies would line them all up and be done with them in a New York Second!! I would advise the MSM sewer feces to read their history books to educate their empty skulls about what dictators do to journalists!!! ISIS would use them for momentary entertainment.

More specifically, he’s too dangerous to their political agenda. Not to mention their hope of being permanently funded by the government, Soviet style.

So, let me get this right. The media creates a narrative that Trump is horribly dangerous, way too dangerous to be allowed to be president (but without providing any evidence to support the narrative). And then, because the narrative is that Trump is dangerous, the media then feels justified in creating the narrative?
