Limbaugh has ALWAYS backed the candidate after the primaries, Limbaugh and Levin are dead to me Laura Ingraham is the ONLY one I listen to any more!!! There is NO REASON after the primaries for Limbaugh to act neutral he JUMPED on the Romney bandwagon lickity split BUT not so much for Trump!!! CANCELLED my yearly subscription to him I signed up for Laura and Larry Elder and still saved a few bucks have 2 instead of just Rush!!!
Are those two the source Limbaugh was citing? If so, he is not loosing his mind, he has lost it. He is right there with Bill Krystal.
When Limbaugh and Levin refused to back Trump because "he isn't a real conservative" or "he isn't conservative enough," it tells you more about them than about Trump. They had no problem backing Romney, McCain, or Bush in spite of their liberal positions on more issues than you can list. So the reason the NeverTrumpers are pouting now has nothing to do with lack of conservative purity. It has more to do with the fact that Romney etc. were RNC insiders vetted and approved by GOP establishment elites while Trump was not. That's what this is all about.
To measure any of us, you have to analyze our priorities. There is no American Conservative priority that is more essential than understanding the legitimate functions of the Government we are electing. The whole basis of that Federal Government may be summarized in Donald Trump's call to put America First. That is Trump's major Issue and all the things which flow from that issue.
Rush is a bright chap. But if he denies the preeminence of recognizing the purpose of the Constitution, in any argument about how Federal power should be employed, he really must be losing it. However, since I have not heard him for some time, please note that my conclusion is conditional upon whether Rush really is speaking to so confused a focus. For years, he showed an above average focus on what was significant in a large array of controversies. He did a lot of good. I really hope that he has not lost his way.
A week or so ago, I head him claim “I’m not trying to defend Trump” on a certain issue he was talking about, as if defending Trump was so gauche.

Actually we need to thank our liberal lemming friends who kept yelling about how much they hated neo-cons. They were right, espcially about Fox and Ted Cruz.
