Pentagon sends jets, warning as Syria bombs near US-backed Kurds

Two Syrian Su-24 jets struck Kurdish positions in and near Hasakah, in northeastern Syria, on Thursday, Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis told reporters. The US-led coalition scrambled planes near the northeastern Syrian city of Hasakah, after Syrian SU-24 airplanes dropped bombs “dangerously near” the US Special Forces operators embedded with the Kurdish YPG militia in the area.

The strike came close to US Special Forces operators, who were embedded with the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), comprised of the Kurdish YPG and local Arab militias.

When the strikes began, the “coalition forces on the ground” tried reaching the Syrian jets on a common radio frequency, but received no response, Davis added. US forces then reached out to the Russian military, using a previously established channel, and the Russians confirmed their aircraft were not involved.

The Americans made it clear that the US would “take whatever action is necessary” to defend the special operators on the ground, Davis said.

By the time the US jets arrived, the Syrian bombers had already departed. No Americans were wounded in the bombing, according to Davis. The Special Forces were ordered to retreat from the area as a precaution.

Russia has S300 and S400 AAA in the region that could knock down most of planes if they wanted to.

Back off, Assad. If you don’t, Kerry will send a sharply worded note, sharp I tell ya. If you make him really made, he may schedule a UN meeting. When Obammy comes back from vacation, he might even call you obstructionist in a press conference! Take that!

Yep, we shoot down a Syrian bomber, who’s bombed our SOF, and Russian S400s take down a couple of our fighters, and it’s on donkey kong while Obunga, out playing golf, finally gets a birdie.

First , the kurds just blew up about 300 innocent people in Turkey. Secondly ,if the kurds are in Syria they have no right to be there. We have no right to be there. Syria is a sovereign country with an in place government. Notice that the government is fighting a civil insurgency . In that fight they have sought and obtained the assistance of Russia . Russia has a right to be there by direct invitation. Why do we ignore international law like it is not even there. The Kurds need to get out or they are going to get bombed real bad.

“We have no right to be there. Syria is a sovereign country with an in place government.”

We are an unwelcome, hostile invading force. Syria should file charges against the US at the UN for violating their sovereignty, And file charges against 0bama for war crimes.

Or kerry might send his daughter to make Assad an offer he might reject in disgust.

Kurds are for Kurds. They hate both types of Arabs (ISIS or Alawites). Just because they are fighting ISIS does NOT mean they love Alawaite Arabs. Heck, they do not even like their fellow Iranians in Persians. They absolutely hate the Turks, as well.

All other major ethnicity in the Middle East have their country except for the Kurds. Kurdistan would include half of Turkey, half of Syria, half of Iraq and half of Iran.

And file charges against 0bama...

The lawless one?

Obunga, Hitlery, Soros, ..., respect neither God's laws, nor our laws, nor international law. They do what they want, when they want. If, by chance, some law is useful in their agenda, they cry havock, and how it's not being followed until it no longer serves their purpose.

These people's goals, to rule the world (perhaps), are all that matter - not the deaths, suffering, or enslavement of countless millions.

Obunga, Hitlery, Soros, ..., are all cut from the same cloth as the murdering tyrannical/evil human beings, which have preceded them, throughout recorded history.

Where do you think is “ Kurdistan”?
Their nation overlaps the political boundaries of several countries and yes, they have the “ right” to be there
Now if they truly are fighting ISIS then they are attacking Assad's enemies and thus this story makes no sense
If we have SF embedded with a militia being attacked by Assad's Air Force it is possible they are helping anti Assad islamist militia and thus have been set up as human shields to protect someone from being attacked by Russia and Syria
Btw, speaking of who has the right to be there, tell me why and when US troops were authorized to fight on the ground in SYRIA?

Did they send F-82’s or F-86’s? I’ll bet that will scare the hell out of those mean enemy people!

Oh, I forgot....did they even arm them or are they only dropping leaflets with the picture of Obama kissing Hilary on them?

If that won’t stop those old “meanies” nothing will.

[the lawless one?]

You know, that made me think of a Bible verse with that phrase:

◄ 2 Thessalonians 2:8 ►

English Standard Version

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.
